Hi there,

before anyone asks this is NOT Warez or cracked software. I have found a free program for Symbian phones called FlipSilent. It sounds great, using N95's internal accelerometer when a call comes in, u can just flip the phone face down to hang up / silent. instead of: look @ phone, unlock (2 buttons) then cancel incomming call...

Very funky! However you have to 'sign' the program yourself. Apparently all you need is to register somewhere and have your phones IMEI number. And you can sign it yourself but i am not sure where to look.

Thanks in advance :)

p.s. check their website: they are also making a program called Shake SMS. so u can just shake the phone to read ** SMS when its locked, and shake it again to lock it. HEHEHHEE! SCHWEEET

Try Here

I've managed to do it.Hardest part was finding an email address that would be accepted during registration.

If you can't do it,email me your IMEI number and the app and I'll sign it for you :D

If you having trouble signing the app, send me your details in a email including your imei number and ill create you a certificate and sign it for you.
Email in my trust.

Far far easier way to do it if you have the google skills ;)

BTW all above board as well

yeah i've googled but a lot of the results are like in odd countries or weird extensions and forums i have never heard of. So i dont wanna click on them and get stung by some trojan or key logger etc.

Recently my parents brought their USB stick back from a net cafe in Hong Kong and it had a virus on it. It would infect any memory stick / HD and pass on as long as it had auto load thing running. >.< really nasty to get rid of, so im trying to be ultra careful these days.

/edit ill give one of these a go later tonight, and post back results. you checked out that ShakeSMS? cool huh?

I have created a Symbian signed account but it won't let me upload the .csr file and says I have a Publisher ID but cannot request Developer Certificates this is using the DevCertRequestControl which is supposed to be the easy way:eek:

Surely there must be a more straight forward way of installing freeware onto my phone:confused:

Nope. They stopped Offline Signing back in late Feb unless you have a publisher ID, which costs $200 per year.

You can do online signing, but you need to have an app that doesn't use restricted UIDs. Basically, it's a complete pain.

I had an N95 8Gb for 2 weeks, decided it was a pain to use, a pain to install software on and generally wasn't very user friendly. So I flogged it and bought an iPhone.

Theres a new hack released that allows you to bypass all the signing (even if signing takes literally 10 seconds to do, not sure why people are having all the problems!) serach for FCA00000 - apparently his hack works well.:)

Must admit after 2 days I am seriously thinking of selling the N95 not even used it yet:(

Im sitting here with about 40 apps installed on my mobile - I dont see the fuss! Havent you tried this?? http://www.gosymbian.com/SSIS_download.html just register with your work email address (ie non gmail/yahoo) and once setup it takes 10 secs to register anything you want.
