My elites psu says 175w max on it. I take it this means its a falcon?!

Its just as 'loud' as my old premium.
The exhaust fans feel much cooler though

My new Elite is a 175 watt jobby. The DVD drive is a lot quieter, but it's still overall too noisy.

My elites a 175watt but its a hell of a lot more noisier than my old premium, loads more noisier.

maybe not but a cooler running chip will certainly last longer and considering all the failures thats certainly a step in the right direction surely

Work that one out guys seen as its the dvd drive, not the fans which makes the majority of the noise, and its still pot luck what drive you get.

There is a significant amount of variation in noise levels between each xbox when idling in dashboard.

Mine is really noisy and i even replaced the fans for Talismoon ones.

Id love a silent in dashboard 360. When Im playing games it can be as noisy as it wants.

I'm not challenging that, im saying the majority of the noise is from the dvd drive, so its not gonna make a difference if your fans are on less, because you could still end up with a chuffing loud dvd drive.

As there are 4 or 5 different manfactured drives, all different noise levels its still luck whether you get a quiet or loud 360.
