How to Theme your iPhone Without Winterboard

Is this happening on the LockScreen?
If so, the file handling this is called Springboard.strings.
Its either in en_GB.lproj or English.lproj of your springboard.app folder

This file handles all the strings you see like Slide to Unlock, Slide to Power off etc ect

Those are what I have backed up before replacing all or parts off. Something in that must have tripped this to happen.

try putting the backed up SpringBoard file back

Nice one brutha!
Can you recommend any good slide to unlocks to use? Looking to make the lock screen and general status bar as minimal as possible. Will prob use the same indicators you have used. Look really smart.

If you want a simple, clean and minimal look, then check out these:

Less is better in my opinion :)

Ive added my custom SMS background folder to /var/stash/Themes, however when I go into Winterboard, it does not display it in the list. Any ideas?

Did you call the folder SMSBackground.theme? The .theme needs to be on the end of every theme folder!
Did you insert the png in the root of that folder?
Did you call the file SMSBackground?

It needs to be the correct size

That ugly Apple banner taken care of.....

You need an app from Cydia called ColorBanner.
(the black theme you see is my own)

noob question, but what do you mean by the correct size ?

Changing SMS conversation Wallpaper

Unfortunately, there is no image file on the iOS which contains this and its hidden in code in some file. No one has found it yet.

So we must use Winterboard for this.

Create a folder called

- SMSBackground.theme

Inside the root of that folder put your chosen background image in PNG format. The file must be 640 x 640 pixels. Call this file SMSBackground.

Now take your SMSBackground.theme folder and put it in /var/stash/Themes. Go into Winterboard and select the theme and respring.

Job Done.

Thats the first ive heard that Apple can tell if its been done........

A restore removes all traces of the J/B and you cant brick your phone....there is always restore

Am I reading this or have you finally produced your own theme for the public!?! ahaha awesome! I love your work but I urge you to create a white/grey theme which is small. What I think IOS6 SHOULD be!

Yep, i created a theme for the public :)
Its only a lockscreen and lockinfo theme mind and not a full on theme.

White/grey theme which is small????
