How unsafe is this? (electircal related)

There's a fair chance India colours the wires differently to us, otherwise I'd agree with putting a new plug on it.

Shame on the 10% of people who didn't, upon seeing the poll and realising their inadequacy, ask wikipedia how to do this.
 
Just change the plug. Christ I knew how to do that when I was 10!

If you're not sure which colour goes where just have a look at any other plug in your house then remember which cable goes to what connection.
 
Why are responses on OcUK so aggressive these days? Did you even bother reading his post saying it's his mums and he brought it to the UK as nobody was using it at home?

He probably doesn't want to cut the plug off because it isn't his, and his mum might not like it having a UK plug on it.

Still, they're so damned cheap these days I can't imagine an adapter would be any cheaper than buying one in a supermarket. I think I got one for something stupid like £3 in asda.
