How was 2017 for you?

Marvellous on the political front, Donald Trump elected and a year on he's moving well on some of his major policies. The UK saw a referendum to bring the UK out of the EU, despite attempts to subvert it things crawl along, meanwhile the EU falls apart at the seams making our exit probably superfluous. Right wing parties continue to grow in strength and popularity in Europe and the world in general showing the contempt for the liberal element s that were becoming overly pervasive in our lives. Excellent!!

On a personal level lost a few of our older dogs due mainly to old age. Such is the cycle of life, however sad to see old friends pass on. Had a lovely litter of pups left as a legacy from a dog that died of illness.

...but we haven’t even left yet. March 2019. Ask again this time in 2019.

Year was going well, had a great holiday, proposed to my girlfriend, work was going well and money wasn't an issue generally for the first time in God knows how long. Managed to get a couple of credit cards despite my terrible credit history and have been working on building it quite successfully, even got approved for car finance!

Then December hit and the money supply stopped (self employed) nobody would pay us which led to a very stressful month. Managed to scrape together a decent Christmas but then on boxing Day my 7yo Husky had to get put down due to pancreatic cancer, along with an eye watering emergency vet fee. So a big swift kick in the balls right at the end. :(

Plus the question is how was 2017 for him, not how 2017 for the UK nation nor how was 2017 was for the American electoral public...

2017 is good but could be better for me. Career is not moved this year, but been to a few places including Japan which has been a placed I dreamt of going forever. But I am ending this year with a strange feeling of regret and sadness for some reason, like I missed something or left something.

The fact he put politics ahead of his personal experiences says it all, really.

2017 was pretty decent for me overall. First half was boring, second half saw me change jobs/employers, moved myself to Glasgow and met some new people. I'm enjoying it so much more down here, so I have no regrets.

Not sure what 2018 will bring, but it should be interesting.

2017 was brilliant in the end , I reached a few milestones that were important to me and I've (hopefully) learned to not take everything so seriously.

Generally quite good - I can't complain. Graduated, got a decent car for myself and started my first 'proper' job. Hoping to leave said job in 2018, just awaiting a date for the final round. Friendships and relationship have also been good, of course, the latter is subject to a few ups and downs but overall everything has been fantastic. Looking forward to seeing what 2018 brings.

Everyone healthy, 150% pay rise, 5 weeks working in Mississippi, new car, house extension just about complete, don't go back to work untill Jan 8th. 2017 has been a good one for me and looking forward to 2018, but I'm not into that new year, new me philosophy...

Started off well. Got into uni to study medicine and got engaged. Then lost someone close to me, broke up with my gf and moved back in with my parents. Onward and upward though.

Great year for me.

Relocated back down south into a bigger house and new career role earning more dosh. Lots more time with my family (immediate and extended) as they all live down south as well.

My daughter has changed from a little dough ball into a little person that runs around and says things like "allo allo allo" (yes, in the right voice)

Got engaged

That's about it, but it all adds up to me being a lot happier, even if it's tough living down south on one wage.

Had an awful start to the year, was facing being out of work plus other personal relationship issues probably had me at my lowest ebb in years.

Things have steadily picked up, work situation has improved as much as can realistically be expected given the state of the oil industry and I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel as regards my other issues.

Other than that my finances are in rude health, my health and fitness is as good as its ever been so I’m looking forward to a much improved 2018.

haven't resolved any of my personal problems ,isolated myself even more from the world ,but living here is amazing ,just need to sort myself in 2018

Legal or illegal?
Legal. 2017 was mainly spent at home on effective garden leave while they figured out what was happening(shutting us down but no redundancies, and a year off not knowing what's happening isn't as good as it sounds). Was off work for 12months and 3 days in the end. Got a new job a few months back. As well as other hints hasn't been the best year. But last several months has been a big improvement.

I had good vibes about 2017 for many years in advance, and it turned out to be one of the better years for me.

- sister got married
- one of my best friends had a baby boy
- had 3 of the best clubbing nights ever (Trancecoda in Birmingham)
- a couple of university reunions
- had hearing aids upgrade
- the Maybot shooting herself in the foot
- not a biggie for most peeps here, but the Beauty and the Beast 2017 remake had a big impact on me
- 2017 was one of the best years for me in music (both commercial and amateur / unsigned artists)
- good year for YouTube content too imo

The only thing that marred this year was a health scare but it came to nothing in the end :)

My most favourite years are 1995, 2006, 1999 and 2001 (top 4) and 2017 likely takes 5th place.

I think 2018 will be a train wreck. Not sure why, but I don't have good vibes for it.

Worst years are 1997, 2002, 2009 and 1993.
