How well does fallout 3 run?

It ran well on my 4670 512MB at 1680x1050 4xAA and 15xAF with high details settings. Stock E8400 and 4GB with latest patch. Used to run fine unpatched too.

Running around Reilly's Rangers area dropped to 49fps. If state any demanding areas in early stages of the game I'll take a run around to check fps.

All these expansions are they on the new add on disk or do i have to download them off the net? The achievements can i get them for free or do i have to sign up for something and pay?

I'm hoping there will be a 'Game of the Year' Edition with all the addons in one nice pack!

Hopefully nice and cheap to.. :D

Fallout 3 though is a superb game.

It ran very nicely on my old system (2200, 2gig RAM, 3870, XP32bit).
It runs even better on my new system (720BE, 4gig RAM, 4870, Win7 64bit).

It randomly crashed, and crashes, on both systems, making actually getting anywhere in the game impossible. QQ

There is going to be :). Can't remember where I read it though! As for cheap, I doubt it considering Fallout 3 still sells well!

The game has yet to crash on my PC, and i play it for hours non-stop

Don't think so - you may want to experience the 'main game' first to make sure you like it before getting the addons.

It seems to get a lot of good credit on these forums so hopefully it does live up to the hype. I remember my mate saying something about how boring the first bit of the game was hmm. Oh well, I'll give it a try. :D

I didn't like it when I first played it but then I found the automated aiming system and it was much better. Since then I've completed it and waiting for all the DLC to be wrapped up in one nice package before getting it.

Some of the mods are excellent, I'm loving the weapons mod where you can add laser sights, scopes, extended magazines, silencers :)

I played it fine on my rig, but had some random constant crashes when I used to play on the 4870 I had. This was cos of a dead/dying mobo. Not tried with the 4870X2 though.

4870 played it at 1920 by 1080 at full settings.
