The road to erudition
With all the comings and goings I thought it would be good to have a thread where people post their predicted first teams (with everyone fit, yes Everton you can even include Saha).

Spurs, formation wise it's a tricky one with Ramos not currently sticking with a system consistently. IMO Ramos is looking to play a 4-5-1 come 4-3-3, but tried and trusted 4-4-2 will still play a part especially if Bent and Pav can form a partnership. Saying that we have also seen multiple sitting players in the DM position, but has restricted our attacking options through the middle.

I would line-up:

-----------------<Gomes>-----------
<Hutton>----<King>-----<Woodgate>-----<Bale>
------------------<Corluka>------------
<Bentley>----<Jenas>----------<Modric>-----
----------------------<Dos Santos>------
-----------<Pavluchenko>-----------

Goal Keeper: Gomes with Cesar as backup

Right Back: Hutton and Corluka (also cover for CB and we may even see him line-up as a DM) with Gunter as backup
Left Back: Bale, Gilberto and Ekotto (fingers crossed for Bale to stay fit) all 3 quite attacking minded.
CB's: King, Woodgate, Corluka, Dawson. Hoping for a season where King can shrug off his sicknote tag, Woodgate already has in my eyes. Dawson is good cover.

DM: Two very different players in Huddlestone and Zokora, Huddlestone with his playmaking ability and physicality versus Zokoras sheer athleticism and surging runs. As mentioned above don't be surprised to see Corluka played here when King, Woodgate and Hutton are all fit.

AM: Jenas has become an ever present and always works hard and runs forever, he's got more to him than the carthorse role (unlike Savage and Brown) and is comfortable on the ball and can make surging runs.
Modric comes with a big reputation, needs to adapt quickly but has looked good so far. Santos is a fresh and exciting player, not scared of anything: the world at his feet with bags of potential. O'Hara worth a mention, should be an ever present on the subs bench.

Wing: Bentley head and shoulders above the rest, with Lennon set for being rotated on either wing where needed. Santos and Modric both capable on the wing as well. We are likely to see a narrow midfield on the left with Bale overlapping.

Striker: Glaringly worse than last season, however Bent is now being given a chance, we will have to see what Pav is like. To me he looks like a traditional British Centre forward who is good in the air, should be a good foil for Bent or one of the midfielders to play off. We also have Frazier Campbell from Utd on loan who looks to be in the Defoe mould but with a bit more pace, a good number 3 time will tell. If not then 1 up front might be the way forward.

I don't think that Ramos will play with a touch-tackling defenisve midfielder like Corluka or Zokora. Just look at how Manchester United have been lining up recently with Carrick and Scholes playing deep. I think Ramos wants to play in a similar style at Spurs.

I would imagine against Villa, we'll play:

Code:
------------------[Gomes ]------------------
-[Corluka ]-[Woodgate]-[King ]-[Bale ]--
------------[Modric ]-[Jenas ]-------------
[Lennon ]--------[Giovanni]--------[Bentley ]
----------------[Pavluchenko]-----------------

To use a tired cliché, Bentley and Lennon will be told to get chalk on their boots. Modric and Jenas will take turn in supporting the attack.

Subs bench:

GK. Sanchez
CB. Dawson
DM. Zokora
DM. Huddlestone
AM. O'Hara
CF. Campbell
CF. Bent

I suspect Ramos might even swap one of the more defensive players for a younger, more attacking option.

Hopefully Hutton will be fit again by the time King/Woodgate get injured again.

..................Almunia
Sagna....Toure.....Gallas....Clichy
Nasri...Fabregas...Diaby...Rosicky
..........Adebayor..Van_Persie

Fabianski
Djourou
Denilson
Walcott
Bendtner
Eboue
Ramsey

Difficult to say on the subs bench really, the likes of Vela and Wilshire maybe deserve a chance. Also not too sure about which side the wingers would be on.

In reality however, Wenger seems to like the idea of deploying Eboue on the rightwing, and frequently puts Song on the bench.

In any event, it's difficult to see that forward line firing the gunners to success in the league.

Probably:

VdS
Brown - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Ronaldo - Anderson/Scholes/Hargreaves - Carrick - Nani/Giggs
Tevez/Rooney - Berbatov

**** knows! At a guess:

-----------------Kuyt-----------------

Torres----Gerrard----Riera----Keane

Carragher--Dossena--Skrte---Agger

-------Mascherano---Reina-----------

-----------------<Gomes>-----------
<Corluka>----<King>-----<Woodgate>-----<Bale>
------------------------------------------------
<Lennon>----<Jenas>----<Modric>------<Bentley>
-----------------<Giovanni>--------------------
----------------<Pavluchenko>-----------------

Not sure on formation as Moyes will prolly do something crazy like a 2-3-2-1-2 now.

But if it was a normal 4-4-2, just like this if everyone is fit and heathly. :)

-------------Howard-----------------

Neville-----Yobo-----Jags-----Lescott

Arteta-----Cahill-----Fellaini-----Pienaar

-----------Saha-----Yak--------------

I believe Pav could link up our midfield to attack well and also nod those Huddlestone and Bale long pots onto Bent, who could then use his most potent weapon, pace.

Hutton and Bale are two of the best attacking FB's in the league and will provide plenty of support for Bentley and Modric. Jenas can use his good engine and fitness to also join the attack when needed.

Like to see Huddlestone moulded into a DM who can use his size to defend and his awesome passing to quickly turn any attacks he breaks down into positive attacks of our own! We're still waiting for him to live upto his potential, lets see what Sir Ramos can do with him.... a massive season for big Tom!!

-------------------------------------------
Beye----Coloccini----Taylor----Enrique
-------------------------------------------
Gonzalez----Guthrie----Butt---Gutierrez
--------------------------------------------
------------Owen-----Xisco---------------

Not sure what the strike force will like when Martins and Viduka come back (or the whole formation) but I reckon it will be Owen and Xisco against Hull (whoever our manager may be :p).

I think Gonzalez is a replacement for Milner but I haven't got a clue how good he is (not that it matters as he's our only RW).

Enrique may swap with N'Zogbia, who knows!

For United, it's gona be tuff. One or two player will get benched.

Most likely line up will be:

VDS

Brown Rio Vidic Evra

Anderson Hargreaves <---- For physical games.

Ronaldo Rooney Tevez

Berbatov

------------------Almunia-------------------
-------------------------------------------
Sagna------Toure------Gallas------Clichy

Walcott----Fabregas----Diaby/Denilson---Nasri
--------------------------------------------
---------Van Persi-----Adebayor-----------

------------------Jones-------------------

Tully------Seaborne------Taylor------Moxey
-------------------------------------------
-----------Gill / Panther---------Edwards-------
-----------------------------------------
----Stansfield------Stewart------Harley----
-----------------------------------------
--------------------Logan-----------

We've been playing some nice football but can't seem to find the back of the net. The above formation is with Logan working as a target man and with three attacking midfielders pushing on.

Oh, the team is Exeter btw ;)

no Giovanni or Corluka?

I'd personally go with.

----------VDS------------
Brown-Ferdinand-Vidic-Evra
-------Hargreaves---------
Ronaldo--Berbatov--Nani---
----Rooney----Tevez------

It looks odd I know, but Berba was used to playing just behind Keane at Spurs so i'd have him there at United and tell Rooney to go goal poach, and Tevez to be a little more selfish.

I think Nasri will play on the left and Rosicky on the right, not sure who out of Diaby and Denilson will play CM with Fabregas. If I had my way Song would play there because defensively he is a lot better than those two.
