With all the comings and goings I thought it would be good to have a thread where people post their predicted first teams (with everyone fit, yes Everton you can even include Saha).
Spurs, formation wise it's a tricky one with Ramos not currently sticking with a system consistently. IMO Ramos is looking to play a 4-5-1 come 4-3-3, but tried and trusted 4-4-2 will still play a part especially if Bent and Pav can form a partnership. Saying that we have also seen multiple sitting players in the DM position, but has restricted our attacking options through the middle.
I would line-up:
-----------------<Gomes>-----------
<Hutton>----<King>-----<Woodgate>-----<Bale>
------------------<Corluka>------------
<Bentley>----<Jenas>----------<Modric>-----
----------------------<Dos Santos>------
-----------<Pavluchenko>-----------
Goal Keeper: Gomes with Cesar as backup
Right Back: Hutton and Corluka (also cover for CB and we may even see him line-up as a DM) with Gunter as backup
Left Back: Bale, Gilberto and Ekotto (fingers crossed for Bale to stay fit) all 3 quite attacking minded.
CB's: King, Woodgate, Corluka, Dawson. Hoping for a season where King can shrug off his sicknote tag, Woodgate already has in my eyes. Dawson is good cover.
DM: Two very different players in Huddlestone and Zokora, Huddlestone with his playmaking ability and physicality versus Zokoras sheer athleticism and surging runs. As mentioned above don't be surprised to see Corluka played here when King, Woodgate and Hutton are all fit.
AM: Jenas has become an ever present and always works hard and runs forever, he's got more to him than the carthorse role (unlike Savage and Brown) and is comfortable on the ball and can make surging runs.
Modric comes with a big reputation, needs to adapt quickly but has looked good so far. Santos is a fresh and exciting player, not scared of anything: the world at his feet with bags of potential. O'Hara worth a mention, should be an ever present on the subs bench.
Wing: Bentley head and shoulders above the rest, with Lennon set for being rotated on either wing where needed. Santos and Modric both capable on the wing as well. We are likely to see a narrow midfield on the left with Bale overlapping.
Striker: Glaringly worse than last season, however Bent is now being given a chance, we will have to see what Pav is like. To me he looks like a traditional British Centre forward who is good in the air, should be a good foil for Bent or one of the midfielders to play off. We also have Frazier Campbell from Utd on loan who looks to be in the Defoe mould but with a bit more pace, a good number 3 time will tell. If not then 1 up front might be the way forward.
