How would you chat up a waitress?

Right, serious thread time!

Story is, I went to a bar place on Tuesday with a few friends, and there was this very friendly (but shy) waitress. She seems quite different to most girls you'd see about. More traditional sort of girl if you get what I mean.

So anyway, I wasn't able to get talk to her properly or get her number that night because she was working. I contacted the duty manager later that night inquiring about the girl, and he suggests I turned up the next time she works and get to speak to her then.

How shall I go about this when I'm there? As she will be working, I can't really stop her and talk for ages! So I was thinking I should ask for her name, then ask what time she finishes her shift, and if she would like me to be waiting when she finishes her shift! Alternatively I could just ask for her number...

What are your thoughts OCUK'ers??

tip her £50 then tell her now she has to sleep with you. it's the alpha thing to do.

When she's walking past with a tray of drinks, stand up and bump them off, making sure they spill on her, follow her to the bathroom, and **** the **** outta her, then your sorted :D

Well that wasn't clever was it? :p

Now she's going to know by the time you get there.

I would go with Raymond Lin's suggestion anyway - that or just grow a pair and ask her outright.

What's the worst that could happen, seriously? ;)

The first point there sounds a bit weird. You contacted her manager to find out about this girl?! Sounds a bit stalkerish if you ask me. Plus her manager now might've said there is some weirdo after you.

Also I wouldn't even bother with the 2nd point. When working and somebody says that to you its such a horrible slimey thing to say. No doubt she'll say no and think you're some weirdo.

Would you really want a stranger to be hanging about outside work for you on a late night?

Just try and speak to her in her work. Ask her if she'd like to go out for a drink sometime and ask for her number. Doesn't put on too much pressure and isn't seen as weird.

Infact just write your number down and give it to her with your name. Say you'd like to go out for a drink sometime and heres your number.

Well spoke to a mate on the phone and he suggested I don't ask her for her number or whatever because she might be used to being chatted up. So he suggest I talk to her about the upcoming event next week, which she asked if I was going to when I was last there, and ask if she will be there, etc.

Guess that is better than my original plan!

Oh and yeah contacting the manager was really the only way I could find out when she would be there. I'm a busy man so I can't really go down there every night waiting!

Ask her how her day's been. Ask her name... just have a conversation lol.

What is this? Having a conversation for Dummies?

The waitress girls at Volstead now all know me by name, greet me with a couple of kisses on the cheek and we crack a few jokes through the night and have small talk. Just be normal and remember to smile. Not weird and creepy.

Ahh another person who thinks all men find talking to women they fancy the "most natural thing in the world". Newsflash: probably around half of men freeze up when they have to approach a female... what would be a normal conversation with someone becomes a nightmare of epic proportions as the tounge swells, a stammer develops, and the cheeks start to burn strangely. What sounded so cool in your head now sounds like a quote from Rain Man.

I was once long that man, and I doubt many could honestly say different on the forum.
