HP Pre 3 released

I'm thinking of buying it from mobiles with the £31 p/m tariff with 15 months free.

What I'm concerned about is the 500mb usage policy. What if I want to tether the touchpad to the phone? Does that mean I won't be able to do it without incurring large charges? =/

Where do you see 15 months free? The £31 p/m tarriff has 12 months free and has 250mb internet, not 500mb.

So in comparison to my £10 sim only, which is of course £240 over 24 months:
15 months free= 9 months at £31 = £279.

So for £39 extra I can get a Pre 3 ? Seems quite good to me.

But does tie you in for 24 months on 500mb, which is probably going to be way less than the norm in 24 months.

Also when it says 15 months free does that really mean that for 15 months out of 24 months will be completely free (Excluding any over the limits)

Not been following much over the last couple of days (had wedding to go to).

So.... the Pre 3 won't be on sale as planned or announcement due on 31st?

Available on contract through some online retailers?

If so, what is the best option without the need to go through redemption?

For what I think is the best deal you can get is by using Quidco with e2save, basically Quidco will give you £50 referral and on e2save you can select £320 cheque cash back which is paid after 6 weeks. So in essence within 2 months you'll get £370 in cash.

Deal is on Vodafone £36 monthly x24 which includes 500MB data allowance, 600 mins & Unlimited texts.

£864 for lifetime of contract, minus £370 equals £494 for the phone/contract.

Up to you if you think this is a good deal, or not. So don't rush in, look around.

thats 20 quid per month...

I did rebates on my contract, its ok. best thing todo is circle the dates on your calander of when you gotta post away rebate (mine was posting 3-4 bills for each period, plus voucher)

Only issue i had was sending wrong bills once, and nearly missing a rebate period.

the downside is having money sloshing about, if your always nearly at 0 on your bank account then maybe it isnt the right thing for you

my quick poke about shows only 3 does "unlimited" data, orange might with some blackberry addon thing (5quid)

pretty much every plan by everyone else is 250 to 1gig per month, which is pathetic tbh

its the 3 "one plan"

Plan Includes.
Contract Length:
24 months
Inclusive UK voice minutes:
2000 mins
Inclusive UK text messages:
5000 texts
Three-to-Three UK calls:
5000 mins
Internet Allowance:
All-you-can-eat Data
From £25 per month.

but at these prices you could get a iPhone 4, or SGII etc. on a 'normal' contract so I'm not seeing this phone as a bargain under contract, just another contract phone.

The 'bargain' has been taken from us and that was £69 for a £299 phone. :/

I assume you`ve not had a data plan on your phone before? I have 500GB a month on my iphone, which is automatically downloading from 3 email accounts, RSS, Twitter, is tethered to my laptop at least once a month and is used for internet browsing nearly constantly when out side the house - I never go over my allowance. 500MB is a lot on a mobile device.

AmTechFox - I think that this is still a bargain on the £15 a month tariffs as you'd normally struggle to get a decent smartphone on something like that. Its also a bargain if you already have a touchpad as the integration between the two looks incredible.

.

No it's not. In the future I will not sign any tariff that does not include an unlimited (albeit with a 3gb fair usage policy) Internet usage.

I take it you've never had the need to tether something on your laptop? Well I have. Having the ability to be in a remote location and tether Sky Sports ( 1 live football game ) on your laptop from your 3G connection on your phone is priceless. This exceeds 500MB.

Going away for the weekend with no internet connection? Tethering yet again could be a major requirement.

Being able to stream all those youtube videos your friends post on Facebook without worrying - You'll need more than 500MB.

Did this change from this afternoon?

I reviewed my tariff and I wasn't informed of this. In fact, I was informed I could get... "unlimited data"

"Unlimited internet when you upgrade
You can get unlimited internet when you upgrade to a new phone on selected plans."

This is pulled directly from T-Mobile site, after logging in to review my current account information..

And what's the FUP? There was a massive thing on here when they tried to change existing contracts, but they decided not to - as i remember they wouldn't let you renew that contract when it ended though, mine goes to February i think.
