HP Proliant ML110 G6 - 32GB?

I can confirm that the dual rank 8GB sticks that I have bought work 100%.

They are also running at full DDR3-1333 speed with cas 9-9-9-24

ProLiant ML110 G6 & G7 - 32GB RAM - WORKS!!!!

HP state that the maximum memory for the ML110 G6 is 16Gb, however for some reason (it was late) I decided to buy 4x 8GB RDIMMs as I read somewhere that the HP Proliant ML110 G6 Intel 3420 chipset with an upgrade to a Xeon X3450 should handle 32GB with registered dimms, although only at the reduced speed of 800Mhz.

The memory is: Kingston KVR1066D3Q8R7S/8GI (8GB PC3-8500 Parity Reg CL7 ECC Quad Rank TS Intel)

The server post beeps 4-3-3-1 with the memory in any combination. I assume from this that the memory is not compatible, unfortunately I cant return it.

Is there any evidence of someone having successfully installed 32GB of memory into a ML110 G6?

I'd Imagine the below memory would work too as per the link from Kingston memory configurator
*No competitor linking please*

My total Cost

System Total Build Cost ML110 G6 = £479 inc VAT
System Total Build Cost ML110 G7 = £540 inc VAT

I reckon the G6 would work @32GB , not sure how all this would affect the motherboard in the long run, for the moment 24GB is working touchwood and fits the purpose

Thats good to know , out of curiousity how much did the 32GB the "Elpida EDJ4208EASE-DJ-F" set you back?

Elpida EDJ4208EASE-DJ-F

£140 a set of 4 inc. Del

Don't seem to get alerts on posts!.. anyhow

Vastre
That's a fantastic price, lucky enough to find it mine have set me back £105 on average per 16GB Kingston, I need another 16GB, I can't seem to find linked references to Elpida EDJ4208EASE-DJ-F for the UK?
I gather you're based in elsewhere..

I bought them off ebay, from HK.

I know this thread is about 32GB but what is the best ram to get to have 16GB running in a G6?

I would have thought just about any normal unbuffered desktop DDR3 RAM will work (4x4GB) does not need to have ECC either, I have used corsair vengeance without any issues.
