Currently £49.99 for a HP Steam 7 Windows 8.1 Tablet.

You need the code jj446qqej

MS Store Link

Intel Atom Z3735G
1GB memory/32GB eMMC
Up to 8 hours battery life
Office 365 Personal

Stupidly cheap. Even if its not amazing.

I really dont need a 3rd windows tablet. But it is a whole lotta bang for £50 especially when thats the price for office 365 on its own.
Not the best windows tablet out there with no HDMI and just 1gb ram but 32gb storage helps and I would much much prefer this to and android tablet.
Interestingly windows 10 x86 wont be available on any new 7in tablets so if you want x86 windows 10 then this maybe the last mainstream tablet to be eligible. All future 7in windows tablets will run windows for mobile.

At £49 delivered for a 32Gb 7" tablet it's just silly money, especially as you say when it comes with Office 365 for a year including 1TB Onedrive storage. Silly money for a decent device, still not sure what I'll use it for but for that money even if it ends up on the bedside as a clock/netflix/music/weather display it's good value.

Signature edition as well so it's not crammed full of bloatware crap. :)

Done.

I wonder if Windows 8.1 with Bing will be exempt from the free W10 upgrade? If not, win!

Doubt it. Windows 8.1 with Bing is identical to Windows 8.1 but OEMS are not allowed to add Google search etc and take a cut of advertising revenue.

Also MS would is trying to increase install base!

I'm really tempted to get one of these, for £50 it seems like something that will be difficult to regret.

BUT... I just can't see what I'd use it for? I've got my proper desktop at home which my work/TV viewing is done on, a Note 4 which is my general out and about device, and a Nexus 7 which is just a glorified alarm clock now.

What's everyone else thinking of using them for?

For 50 quid, I'm just going to mess about with it. Might try some other OSs and see if there's anything cool to do with it.

But mostly I expect I will browse OcUK while sitting in front if the TV. Its 50 quid, its not worth trying to justify it :p

This isn't correct, windows 10 is for devices 7" +
Windows 10 for mobile is for devices 3.5"-7.99"
So OEMs have a 1" overlap they can decide which version to use.

As for the deal, it's very tempting indeed. especially with office 365 and so cheap you can really abuse it.
