HP Stream 7

I ordered one this morning, checked my order history and says no recent orders! I called up their support and they can see the order was made and is currently processing, the money is being held as well. I assume they are dealing with A LOT of orders for this, but a bit useless that I don't even have proof of the order via email or on their site!
 
Ordered!!! Even at £75 its a bargain, gonna get Windows 10 on it when it arrives!!!

Hopefully it'll be better than my Nexus 7 2012, which is pretty much a doorstop since lollipop 5+ was installed!!
 
Ordered one for £50 couldn't resist at that price.
Will likely stick windows 10 on it, not 100% sure what I'm going to use it for mostly, maybe cache some plex stuff on it and use it for the commute.

I think the order system has caved in under the volume. Both mine and a mates still show as in process even though they have been delivered, and other people have had the same as you where it vanishes but still gets delivered fine.

My W10 update failed because the battery died and left files everywhere. Finally got round to clearing them out and trying again.
 
So I finally got the W10 update to install (took all night), but it doesn't look like the drivers work for most things. The touch screen doesn't work so I can't even get past the lock screen to investigate :p

I'll have to dig my OTG cable out and plug a keyboard in. The network connection shows not connected too, so it doesn't look like the WiFi driver work either!

Yeah once you have got yourself a mouse/kb plugged in you will want to reinstall
- SP69306.exe - Intel Chipset, Graphics, Camera and Audio Driver Pack
- SP69309.exe - Realtek HD Audio Driver
- SP69310.exe - Realtek RTL8723BS Wireless LAN Driver
- SP69353.exe - Realtek RTL8723BS UART Bluetooth Driver
- SP69308.exe - Kionix G-Sensor Enabling Driver
- SP69305.exe - Goodix Touch Control Driver
Then should be good to go.

Specifically interested in how a bluetooth pad performs, focusing on input lag and general streaming lag over a decent wifi connection. Or VPN if you're feeling adventurous. :D Cheers!

I might take the jump myself, £50 is a pretty tempting price.

Just FYI for this. I doubt it will work well with 2.4ghz wifi and BT pad which also runs on 2.4ghz. As it doesnt work well on the linx 8/10 which is very similar.
To get around it you can use a BT dongle on a usb extension about 2ft away though if that helps. Its quite annoying but it makes me glad that my DVP8 has 5ghz as that has no issues.
Performance wise streaming on my linx/DVP8 is perfect though. Just thought Id warn about the BT/wifi gotcha.
 
Hmm, glad I asked then. Would be good to get a confirmation though.

I'll hold off for the minute, as the main reason for me getting this would be wireless play (moreso when the Steam Controller is out later this year).

OK, a warning for anyone wanting to put Windows 10 on this through the Windows Update route. Dont!

My tablet is now bricked and I just had to rant at HP to get them to provide the recovery media for free rather than trying to charge me $40 for it!

The W10 installation is borked. It doesn't have the drivers so touch doesn't work, but when I use a KB and mouse Explorer.exe crashes and the screen refreshes constantly back to the desktop every second. Its unusable.

And none of the recovery options work. Roll Back to a Previous Build doesn't have a previous build, and running the HP Recovery to restore from the Recovery partition doesn't work either, it fails when you try and run it (presumably because a W10 Recovery is trying to open a W8.1 partition?). Either way I've spent all day trying to sort it and got nowhere so now have HP sending me the recovery media.
