Well I've missed the whole thread...oops

Can anyone just tell me what are the chances of getting one of these for £89 at some point soon, or are they all sold out?

Thanks.

Well I'm riding the midnight waves, not that it'll do me any good since all high street shops have no reserve, CPW is showing nothing and Argos is offline.

Only leaves the other major sites which I won't name who are yet to lower prices, which I guess will happen 8/9am?

@A2Z: Everywhere that's dropped the price is sold out. Some places are sold out by reservations hoping they will drop the price.

Many places have not dropped the price, and are reporting lots of stock. We're hoping they will drop the price soon, but have no official word that anywhere will.

Chances are slim, unless you're paying lots of attention. Amaz*n dropped at midnight and sold out in 2-5 minutes.

Damn, I missed the Amazon deal, I was on page 28 at the time... :o

I'm gonna be up 'till 5am, what's the best thing to do, just keep checking various sites for stock?

?

I'm in the USA and was driving from Maine to New Jersey on Saturday. I get to my destination to discover that the $99 price had been announced the day before and everywhere had now sold out online. I drove round all the local stores on Sunday and the first ones all said they were sold out, but one said the company may be getting a new delivery on Monday afternoon, so I went shopping with the family and popped in at 3pm to be told that they didn't have any. This is the same time that Dixons Group announced the price drop in the UK and they'd all sold out by the time I got back to the PC. I managed to login to Comet and get an order for one, but it never processed at checkout and an hour later it went out of stock. I then found http://www.techfruit.com/2011/08/22/hp-touchpad-firesale-now/ that lists all the retailers with discounted stock and they were all sold out, so I went off to buy an ice cream as a commiseration present to myself. When I got back rainforest had updated their prices and promptly sold out.

I should just give up......

I never even thought to visit the shops when they opened. What would you say would be the best bet? PCW, Chicken Curry?

P.S. Why is the websites all saying out of stock, if they have them in stock... 4am brain wave???

Damn, it does sound like you had some bad luck there... Fingers cross a few shops tomorrow which are listed on that blog will drop their prices...
Oh, Didnt know that. If you finish at 6 thats a long wait entil the shops open :D Sit in mcdonalds ? :D
Well I think they do have Wifi at McDonalds, but even then I'm nor sure if I could spend more than an hour there... :p :D

I'll probably stay at work for an extra hour or so as there's a few things to keep my busy once my shift is over. :)

pcw, argos, currys etc if you want to take a chance at a bricks and mortar place.

ofcourse the other chance is to stay at home and f5 other places and hope to grab a order like that.

If PCW and Curries are showing as out of stock on their websites. What makes you think they will actually be in stock? Have I missed something.

Tempting to order from sites that've not yet started the sale and see if it's possible to get the money back from HP ... not followed this thread to closely since last night so not sure if they'll be offering rebates on currently full priced hardware?
