Well I was sort of half tempted by WeAreElectricals but I think I always knew deep down they were a sham. I, for one wont be using them for anything and i'd encourage everyone to not waste any more of their time on them.

I doubt they ever even had a chance of getting stock to begin with. I'll be deleting my registered account now.

Hi
I bought this from on Amazon, but found a cheap one in my local store, as don't need it now, I can either send it back, sell it on ebay or give it to someone on here for the same price I paid (£54.58) plus postage.

Not sure how I go about "selling" on here so if anyone wants it can they let me know.

1 of HP TouchPad Touchstone Dock, £49.99*

Item Subtotal: £49.99
Shipping & Handling: £4.59
Total: £54.58

Lol what a bunch of utter cowboys.

I hope their twitter gets rammed with abuse, as its plainly obvious that this was the intention all along. Just to generate traffic and registrations to their crappy site.

So with expansys, if you pre order, will they ask you if you still want a touchpad once they're in and before they debit your account? I'm sure I remember reading they would?

I don't really want to go through the hassle of buying one at full price then sending it back.

*I'm counting on you, dodgy HP link. :p

I think Greebo was looking for one of those matey, scroll back to find one of his posts somewhere in this thread (or search for his username) and then you can send him a message through the 'Trust' system found at the bottom right corner of each user's posts.

Just read their t+c's, can be returned at least and it's all I've got to go on :(

well I feel like an idiot having told ppl about them. bunch of morons. sounds like a ruse to get more followers on twitter! well I sure as hell unfollowed them

So.. are you confirming that if I buy a FULL PRICE Touchpad from Expansys, they will then give me a partial refund on the purchase? (bringing it down to the cheapest price that has been going?)

Yes, that is what they told me. I called up twice and spoke to different people to confirm that this was the case.

From the Director,
Due to issues with our distributor, we are not able to offer the HP Touchpad for sale.

We feel disappointed that a brand such as HP did not consider the ramifications of its actions last week, nor plan for the reasonable demand for its units. We also feel disappointed that eBay sellers were the big winners in this pricing war, and that the end user (yourselves) have largely been left high and dry by the big retailers who didn't implement any per-customer restrictions.

We worked tirelessly over the bank-holiday weekend to try to source the HP Touchpad for yourselves, but to no avail.

By way as a consolation, we are currently working to offer discounts on similar products, because we tried, but ultimately this wasn't enough.

Please check this page later for discounts.

HA HA

But what about:

From Expansys

"Hello,

Not for the moment. We are still waiting for any official document from HP to confirm how they will handle the rebate as originally they announced they will be giving rebate to end-users who paid the full price directly but apparently this is only in USA, this information has not been confirmed for HP UK, we heard they should be giving rebate directly to suppliers in UK so we should be buying them already discounted but our suppliers didn’t get any confirmation that this will actually be done so so far we are stuck and therefore all orders for this product are on hold till HP will confirm how they intend to handle the situation. "

Every employee seems to have been told something different.

do you know when stock is due? Also, do you know when the refund will be given?

...no point me calling if you've called them twice already - Is this it then? Am I going to get one......? CAN IT BE?

Greebo how did you get on with that company for the Cases and Stands?

Forgot about that. Within 10 minutes I got an email saying they had no stock and their distributor didn;t have any and wouldn;t be gettting anymore in stock :(

Thanks to my "bitch" and another kind ocuk forum member I am sorted now for touchstones and cases. :D

I would call them again anyway and see if you get told something different.

At the end of the day, if Expansys don't give me a partial refund then I will return the tablet.
