hahaha
lipo can still be in a hard case and they are still basicly the same technology is li-ion
http://support.radioshack.com/support_tutorials/batteries/bt-liion-main.htm
lithium-ion batteries are limited in shape to either prismatic (rectangular) or cylindrical.
Lithium-Ion-Polymer batteries are the next stage in development and replace the liquid electrolyte with a plastic (or polymer) electrolyte. This allows the batteries to be made in a variety of shapes and sizes.
why would f1 choose li-ion over li-po? surely beeing able to shape the battery and not beeing forced to use a metal case and beeing the next step in battery technology makes more sense?
its possible people are confusing lipo with li-ion in articles as they are still essentially lithium ion batteries accept the liquid electrolyte is replaced with a polymer instead
hopefully sparky can find out and give a definitive answer
LOLARKNOR
Le Mans and GT racing is slightly different though, in that they have far more freedom in terms of packaging.
Porsche used a flywheel in a 911 too.
The flywheel in the Audi was weird, you could hear it on the onboard cameras.

They have the least money and personnel of any team, stop whining
Caterham are under-performing given the personnel and financial backing they have. Battling with what is essentially Minardi-Ferrari driven by two rookies is weak, they should have points by now.

I would agree. Caterham are a far larger 'relative' disappointment than HRT. HRT have no money, and are at the back, whereas a report last year suggested that Caterham were now the 5th or 6th best funded team on the grid, yet they are only marginally better than HRT.
Caterham has been a massive disappointment.
didnt they move to leafield this year? The other established teams have factories which they have built up over the years with all sorts of toys in.
Caterham 3 years ago had nothing. In fact, they were the only new team in 2010 to start with nothing. All the others were based around existing race teams in other formula..
The outfit is moving from its current base in Hingham in Norfolk to the ex-Arrows and Super Aguri base in Leafield in Oxfordshire

EDIT: looks like the move was scheduled to happen sometime this month
