HTC desire case thread

Pictures can be a bit misleading, especially when items are from HK, so I just sent the seller a message asking if it was the genuine HTC one. I somehow doubt it, but lets see what the seller says :)

Ofcourse its not genuine HTC, its made in china! Little label on the inside stating its made in china.

The genuine HTC pouch has a different design and the Desire one is made from leather!

I have taken my Desire out and about today, but have no screen cover or case yet. Screen cover is on its way from USA, and so is the apparently genuine Nexus One case from HK.

Ideally I am looking for a thin silicone or plastic (matt finish) one, but I cannot seem to find one. I am considered one of the HTC leather pouches, but they are out of stock everywhere too

Can confirm this case fits well if anyone is interested. Actually dropped my phone down the stairs hours after putting this on, no damage at all. I actually paid £1.79 inc. Expected it to be rubbish but it's a definate keeper.

Bought a Marting Fields Screen Protector which is superb.

What's the surface of the case like, smooth soft gel or texured?

Got a MF screen protector in the post today hopefully

Smooth Soft Gel Mate. Looks like Carbon Fibre because its smoked and you can see through it. Very nice look to it and goes well with the phone.

Ah, I want something with a bit of texture to it, I find the smooth ones get a bit sweaty.

Got my MF protector installed now, pretty much the exact same friction and visibility as the standard one, not rubbery like the zagg ones.

I just got one of these for mine:-
"Leather" desire pouch

It fits in there nice and snug with a little tab at the top to pull it out.

How you finding that?

and what's the general consensus? Neoprene case or a pouch? With Neoprene will you have to get a screen protector?

Got a screen protector but I don't think I'll put it on.. the boxlogic anti-glare but it feels a bit sticky.

Also got one of those £1.50 ebay silicon skins and it's ok; not a tight fit but it works and has all the right holes etc. Waiting for my pouch though as hopefully that'll take care of both those jobs.

EDIT: noticed one nice bonus of this silicon thing. Having a border around the trackpad has made it a LOT more responsive and my finger doesn't even need to touch it now. Lovely :)

My HTC PO S510 arrived today, and although its designed for the HD2 it still is a very nice case for the Desire. The fit is not at tight as I would like, but in some ways it makes it easier to take out of the case, and it doesn't just slip out.

Furthermore, the inside has a cloth like texture which cleans the screen :)

The cat mount I got is actually really good..didnt think it would be this well fitted
