HTC Desire HD (Ace)

All you gotta do is pretend you ordered on a third party site, call T-mobile and tell them about it and then they'll give you a better offer. Simple as that. Plus people ordering from third parties are getting limited internet speeds and bandwidth

They dont often do that, actually.

Same for me, they knocked the phone down from £90 to free because I mentioned MPD. Also, remember if you order with T-Mobile direct, not only is the web speed faster, but you get excellent customer service (seriously the best I've ever had to use) AND the flexible booster.

All the 3rd parties use this flexi booster for the internet, hence the slow speeds, but having it means you get the choice of some useful stuff like unlimited texts or free T-Mobile to T-Mobile calls. That was the selling point for me as my girlfriend and couple of best mates are with T-Mobile too. And you can change it every month if you want too.

T-Mobile is fine if you live in a town. In the sticks, forget it for the most part. How I wish I had T-Mobile reception, there are much better deals to be had and I guess what Vodafone customers are paying for is this reliability of coverage.

This is an awsome phone, such a step up from my touch HD, pretty impressed, most of the critisisms seem pretty petty such as the rear covers not fitting very well and the raised lip around the screen.

Battery life is better than my Touch HD so far so it will fit in with what I'm used to anyway, charge at work and home and car.

Still fiddling about, been fidling since last night and only an hour ago did my number port over so I have to do most of it again

How are people on Orange finding it? Is it branded to hell or?

Was swapping over to voda from Orange to get it but boy are they messing me about, 5 phone calls and still they have no record of me ever talking to me (very annoying when I had a manager approved deal for coming over to voda on 2nd call but now they have no record of it...)
(was handest free 18month 35 a month with extra mins)

so thinking of staying with Orange now.

Was wondering if it was worth sticking or am I going to get a pig of a branded phone?

Personally I would strongly recommend everyone who is willing to pay this much for a mobile and/or are due an upgrade or just fancy something new to play with :p to wait for a couple of weeks as the nexus 2 should be out before xmas and apparently it will make all current smartphones look like toys :p, the hardware is suppose to be unbelievable and obviously it will come shipped with the latest android OS called gingerbread (dual core with a much better GPU etc.)

See this thread for more details:

Interesting, so by the looks of it there will be an announcement made on the 8th November (few days time), which should then see the new Dual-Core Tegra 2 phones coming out either in time for Christmas on in January, hopefully with a better battery life ;)

I have canceled my DHD order with MPD and think i will hold off for now and see whats coming out in the next month or two.

Can you get Orange coverage? As Orange and T Mobile have merged.

Im also with O2 and want to stay with O2, i have been quizzing O2 about not wanting to stock the DHD, yesterday i questioned the person who was on their LiveHelp, and they said as from tomorrow (Monday) they will stock the HTC DHD, but you cant pre-order and they would not give me any more details via the LIveHelp.

I think they wanted to push the HTC HD7 (Win7Mobile) instead of the Android DHD, but they may have realized that they are cutting their nose off by refusing to stock the DHD, so will find out tomorrow if the LiveHelp was right or wrong.

Edit - Just phoned O2 this morning (Monday) and spoke with Gemma, who said they will NOT be stocking the DHD, she confirmed that they decided not to sell the DHD because they are pushing the HD7 :(

good news as my brother-in-law is on o2 ready for upgrade. was thinking about the HD7- i guess i was despereate :D

No sign of it on the o2 website?
