HTC Desire HD (Ace)

I read a guide on how to stop news, stocks syncing etc, it tells you to go in to settings>account and syncing, you can then see news, weather, stocks etc, however going on these, there is no option to remove or stop these from syncing??

Any ideas?

Also, can anyone reccomend anymore tweaking guides? I read the one that was posted a few pages back but I wanted to see if there is more I can do, im finding this phone quite sluggish I am sorry to say :( it does tend to be guide awkward when browsing through menu's, freezes when loading stuff.

I have also turned off WiFi and Mobile data via the settings menu, unless I need them, I have then added a WiFi Shortcut to my home screen, is there anyway to put a mobile data shortcut on my home screen so I can easily turn on mobile data?

Add the settings widget for mobile data, as for the sluggishness I've not encountered that at all, everything is pretty much instant, it's just so much faster than my Hero. I wonder if you're suffering the /init bug? Try enabling debugging in the applications menu, that's supposed to work around that bug.

@DJMK4 As above I don't think you should be getting any sluggishness, I've only ever had a noticable slowdown once when playing angry birds and never seen it since maybe there is a service or app running that's hogging your resources.

Everything is pretty much instant for me and I've installed quite a bit of stuff.

Hrm... if we're talking trainer analogies...

The iPhone would be Adidas, I can jive with that sure, but they'd be some '80s re-release "classics" which, really, might be nice and "on trend" but you didn't get much for your moneys worth.

The DHD... Well the main selling point is the easier customisation, so I think we have to go with some Nike ID jobbers. The analogy kinda breaks down as Nike are one of the most well known brands in the entire world full stop, but from a functionality perspective...

Mohh.

Does anyone else open their full App list and find duplicates of the same app (that came with the phone). Then when you try to delete one it doesn't delete?

Please tell me you removed the plastic tab off the battery?

Haha!! My mate said that too, yes I did, first thing but I think the cover is broke a bit now. :)

BTW - what kinda networks/deals are people on/getting? I got mine for £470 unlocked and was gunna go on O2 PAYG (300 txt free for £10/month). Been on Virgin and bloody hate it.

I'm with T-Mobile, 300 Minutes, Unlimited Text + Internet for £15 P/M. I sold my N900 and used those funds and an extra £30 to buy the DHD for £280. First month is free if you buy a contract before 5th Decemeber.

Cool Thanks

Another question is to get this or wait for the nexus 2 !! hmmm....

I'd personally go for it, the Nexus S/2 isn't confirmed yet. It is likely to be out February at the very earliest.

When its released there will likely be the usual stock problems, and if you decide you want it, the DHD will still be fairly valuable and easy to sell on.

On top of all that, the rumoured specs aren't even that impressive compared to the DHD!

Where can i see the specS?

Where can i see the specS?

These are the 'leaked and rumoured' specs, so bear in mind they could be way off -

- ArmV7 CPU – Could be Dual Core
- Open GL ES Supported
- 512 or 328MB Ram (Not 100% known)
- 1GB or 2GB Internal Memory (Not 100% known)
- 800×480 Screen Resolution
- 4″ Screen Size
- SuperAmoled2 – Possibly
- 720P HD Video

So assuming they are correct, you get a slightly beefed up Samsung Galaxy S.

That is not something I'd change the DHD for, but I imagine it will be better than that.

Wow, I just put my DHD next to my housemates Desire and the slcd is pretty much superior imo, brighter, sharper, better white balance... The only thing better about the desire screen is the colour saturation and better blacks.
