**HTC HD2 Thread**

Cheers.

Basically screen is so big its not going to suit some, though i find the iphone slightly too small and everything else Jets etc... a total pain in the backside to use.

HTC have nicely touched up Windows Mobile, without it it would be a total horror, really depends on how often you need to dip behind the gloss and tbh, you wouldn't know unless you've had it for a bit.

Thinking of going for 300 mins unlimited txts for £15pm, its what im getting now on a rolling, just means paying £230 for the phone from where am standing.

Even if its £5pm extra for the tinternet it's still better for me than paying £35pm having to hold back on texts for an iphone.

(can you guess i'm trying to convince myself with every last word!!!)

WOW... a couple of days with extensive usage and a screen that size? Im somewhat dubious... but if true that would be awesome. I cannot wait for an Android version of whatever HTC are deeming comparable to this phone...

Don't make me wait any more!

;)

On my HD I very rarely go into the windows settings after the first day or so, things like bluetooth and wifi all have touch flo interfaces, it's only really obscure settings that will need it. :)

Not that dubious, the HD also has a similar sized batter and lasts for a few days on a single charge and general usage. The extra processing power and the capacitive screen however may kill the battery a bit, but I doubt much.

1ghz processor, massive screen... that will add to more battery consumption, you can't compare it to the Touch HD in that respect.

HTC HD2 is out on the 17th of this month on o2... this is the first time I have had an 18 month contract and its killing me!

The screen is only .2" bigger (?) but the same resolution so essentially identical, only the extra power needed by the capacitive screen really. As for the hardware, just because the processor is more powerful doesn't mean it uses more battery as such (i'd be interested to know the difference between power consumption).

Some information about battery life here

Looks quite promising

Looks a bit like the HD battery usage...:p

Same here, with a 12 month contract I could be up for a new phone next month, instead I have til June next year! What really gets me is that phone makers are still releasing every 12 months and phones still only come with 12 months warranty!

Well... 4.3" - 3.8" = 0.5"... so a fair bit really.

Just realised that, I thought the screens were 4 and 3.8", however that is only an extra 6th :p

EDIT: I just made the mistake of reading the slashgear review and watching the video. I want it so badly now...:o It's apparently pretty cheap according to them (£450, i'll believe it when I see it!) so I wonder how much i'll get for an almost pristine HD...:p

slightly off topic. I am looking to get 1 of these phones. I currently do not have a phone as i buggered mine and didnt have insurance. I have just phoned O2 as i want to downgrade my contract.

They said I can only downgrade a fiver a month. I am currently on a £35 a month contract and have a bolt on for unlimited texts. Is this correct as I had assumed you could just downgade to the lowest contract staraight away.

My 18 month contract runs out at the start of March so have had this contract over a year. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hmm apparently, on T-Mobile, it's going to be an un-butchered HTC :D

Might have to give them a call tomorrow to see what kinda upgrade deal I can wangle out of them.

Gotta say that that's an awesome review, especially for a WinMo phone. I was going to pull the trigger on a Hero tonight, this is giving me second thoughts...

Im going to change networks I think, I want this phone and Tmobile have it and on decent tarrifs also! Orange aren't getting this phone it appears and they have nothing I want.

Im a complete noob when it comes to sorting out phones, I got my current one direct through Orange.

This seems a pretty good deal, anyone used them before and how would I go about keeping my number from Orange?

I called T-Mobile today to get an upgrade quote. They said they don't have it in yet (and won't, realistically, until Monday next week) so they couldn't give me a quote :(

I haven't upgraded since April 2006 lol....... although I bet that will have no baring on the price they offer me! :/
