**HTC HD2 Thread**

Cool, what does this update actually do? Anything new, or just bug fixes?

Sorry, slighty OT I know, but I see Samsung have just announed a 32GB microSD. Does anyone know when it will likely hit the market?

Well happy with T-Mobile upgrade dept at the moment!,

Just called up and upgraded to the HD2 for free on flext40 for 18months (got friends and family discount too so only £20.00pm) £225.00 credit a month to use on whatever and unlim internets.

supah chuffed!

Well I just got mine at lunchtime and what can I say it. It is fantastic. Ordered from virgin. No branding whatsoever!.

Screen is fabulous however it is way too sensitive. Will look at the program for that.

Just ordered a 16gb class 6 card from 3 accesseries which should be nice. Ill wait till next month when samsung release the 32gb to the market.

Just need to send back the white 32gb iphone thats sitting waiting for me at my inlaws.

Sorts out the slowdown when loading large SMS conversation chains.

I can confirm that it works a treat :D

Hmmm. Seems to delay the All Messages screen way more for me, and still takes a good time to load the full thread. It's also changed the size of the "Smallest" font which now looks awful :/. And why does it say "GSM" at the end of every text? Do I *really* need to know that?

Thinking about removing this to be honest.

Edit: In fact it actually cuts off your text if it goes over 2 lines so you can't even see your full history/last text properly - that is if you're using Smallest or Smaller text size. Ridiculous.

Just found out about Swype myself, and have to say its fantastic. Really easy to use and quite impressive on guessing what words you wany, ok not 100% perfect but not far off.

Great work. Videos certainly look impressive.

Is there an easy way to play them in HTC Album? Tried to associate it with the HTCVideoPlayer but nothing happens.

Only way I can get it to work is to click on album and then locate the files from the storage card but that's a bit time consuming as it scans the whole sd card.

Ok, managed to sort this out. Just copied the .mp4 files to the storage card\my documents\my video (had to create the folder first tho). Now the mp4's just appear in the album as soon you copy stuff into that folder.

Will be interested if you do any more conversions. The quality is the best I've seen on the HD2.

Some more for you my good sir. :)

You on voda?

I've never had that issue.

No, T-Mobile.

Might just hard reset (ha! Like i have a choice!) slap HSPL on, then flash a stock ROM on.

Also - something else i've noticed... with my previous HTC phones, I had 2 connections, one for T-Mobile internet and a separate one for T-Mobile Pic Messaging. When I sent an MMS, it would connect, send, then immediately disconnect.

With my HD2 it seems to just use the "internet" connection - then stay connected afterwards.....? Anyone else's like this?

Mmmmmmm phone sent back, 3GS on it's way.

Can't believe people like this phone, it's the worst piece of electronics I've ever owned and I'm a gadget freak.

Sorry :/

Heh, the OS is just too powerful for you ;)

I have had WM OS phones since the SPV and I can say I wouldnt want to have any other type of phone given the community. If I was forced, then it would have to be Andriod.

I'd agree, it’s not 100%. for an example; PC games being released that need patching in the first month to fix game play issues. It’s the same with this phone. Out of interest whats the most patched PC game?
I now know why Vodafone have abandoned it, allowing only the business user (read geeks) to play and configure it.

It’s an unfinished product.

- Found an extremely GOOD program that has solved allot of issues for me. Mainly increasing battery life 10x.
It stops the phone continually staying connected on the internet that will be a very large drain on battery life.
imho this phone should have had this built in at release.

Taken from my post on the XDA forums.

I’ve had mine for 4 days and was very disappointed with battery life.

Found this: SetupDialUpEnablerDisablerv0.4

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=610657

Sort the battery life right out. Now I can pull an email down every 30mins and the internet disconnects after 30 seconds.

The most useful app I’ve seen.

Seems that the general opinion of these HD2s is one extreme or the other - love it or hate it.

My plan is to get one for £80 on £25pm with Virgin. Then if I decide I don't like it, I will just unlock my iPhone 3G, use the Virgin contract (as my iPhone contract is up in 2 weeks) and sell the HD2 for £400 ish :D

Sound like a plan?
