**HTC HD2 Thread**

Having some troubles and wondered if anyone's had this, knows a cause or a solution.

Basically I flashed a new ROM last night and it was very unstable, wouldn't boot up 90% of the time and crash the remaining 10%. So today I've done the following:

- Flashed Task29
- Flashed new HSPL3
- Flashed LEO_2.12.50.02_2_Radio
- Flashed Energy.Leo.21914.Sense2.5.Cookie.GTX.Aug.25
(Now done this twice with a different ROM at the end, but this was the last)

All of these were flashed via the 3-colour boot screen. After flashing Energy ROM I let it boot normally, which it does fine, asks me for my network op etc, then after about 30 seconds after HTC Sense has launched it froze. Waited a few minutes and nothing happened so rebooted via battery removal, now it just gets stuck on either the GTX boot screen or the Energy boot screen.

The strange thing as well is that at the very start of a boot up it still has the ChuckyROM's bird and android logo, which is the first ROM I flashed this morning (which also had the above problems, hence trying a different ROM).

Anyway, no idea what to do now so any advice would be appreciated.

Ok so I've "fixed" the problem by flashing to a stock ROM, but I still get the same problem every time I then flash to a custom ROM, despite having HSPL etc. Any ideas? :(

Edit: Stock ROM is now just getting stuck once the "Preparing for first time use" bar has reached the end.

Maybe flash a different radio? Tried a different USB port? My install was picky about which port I used. Had to use rear USB ports that are fixed into motherboard in the end.

Im finding the problem with most of these android builds (for me anyhow) is when you try to wake the phone, it either takes too long or just does not. Which is annoying when you want to hang up. :(

For the record, fixed my problem, and for some reason it is/was the SD card. If the SD card is in, it just hangs on boot. Without it's absolutely fine. I've properly formatted it and everything and it's still the same. Looks like I need to buy a new one, whatever's happened to it!

Wonder if anyone can help, i enabled the password/pincode if the is not used in 1 minute all was working fine until the phone crashed so i took battery out and restarted the phone. Now when i enter code it says code incorrect  ...help plz

a hard reset would fix it if your cool losing installed progs, i use myphone which syncs phonebook, txts and bookmarks so never really a prob doing a hard reset (power on phone holding both vol+ and vol-), check xda developers, ive seen a few similar threads, there may be a work around

Thanks mate thats what ive have to do in the end, lost all contacts tho :( owell i should have backed them up.
Looking for a new rom now lol

Thanks again

Just throwin my experience in.

My HD2 or WinMo or a combination thereof has left me bitter, but I still use it.

I cannot begin to stress how annoying it is when your phone will not receive texts (or if it does, it may just be the odd one). This happened for 3 months before I realised. ****

Then calls and voicemails weren't going through. Goddamn.

Things I tried to fix it;

All of the HTC updates
New Radio version
New ROMS
New HSPL
Flash & Reset

yadda yadda yadda. POS. Sooo cross with it. But I got it to work.

What fixed it:

Android.

The phone now works! I want to punch everyone responsible for me missing important texts and calls in the balls!!! Man it was soo annoying.

/rant over

The Android port is far from perfect, but it WORKS! Some audio artefacts on the other end... echoes. Some wireless & connectivity artefacts as well. Very power hungry.

I am looking forward to the updates =)

Swype is also a killer keyboard... check that out!!

Mike

Also; WinMO must be the WORST phone OS in the entire UNIVERSE. Probably took the whole team working extra shifts of undertime to come up with such a rubbish OS. It is like Windows ME or something. Just UBER-balls.

I don't **** OS based on brand; I love 7. I'm not a DOZE hater, but mother of GOD could they have put anything worse out there?

Ok took the plunge and I must say Mattc's 1.5b is a really awesome rom :D Think I'll try using this as my main OS for a while however the battery life is somewhat of a conern.

Are you guys using any apps or anything to allow the battery to last a lot longer or is there not much to be done at his point?

Also is there any way to transfer SIM contacts onto your Favourites panel?

There is a thread with some battery tips on XDA - think the main one is use setCPU (available for free on XDA) to underclock and save some battery.

Sticking with MattCs 1.5b as 1.7 is out soon, also the Gsensor calibration method fixed my intermittent touchscreen freezes :)

My screen sometimes stops responding, have to lock and unlock the phone to bring it back, is that the issue you had? What was the fix?

My only issues with the Android port are the g-sensor and compass. My g-sensor has a permanent tilt to one corner, and the compass always points East ><

I want to re-install android shortly, but I was hoping to backup my texts/contacts/email-settings/etc... I use google contacts, so I think that side is at least done... is there any decent way to backup other stuff?

I have not used it yet but the 'Titanium Backup' app is what most people seem to be using.

I was experiencing lots of touchscreen freezes and fixed it using the suggested work around from the MattC thread on XDA - just calibrate the G-Sensor prior to booting android, plus I leave the phone flat when booting.

Installed 1.7 last night, everything seems to be working just fine :)

Having some problems with my HD2, in android of windows.

The battery gets down to 35% then just drops straight to 2%.

I bought a new battery from ebay and this does exactly the same thing. Going to try and do a hard reset tonight, could it be a faulty handset?

I've noticed on the contacts for the battery on the handset there's 3 connections, 2 groups of two and a single one. One of the groups of two was slightly bent, does the battery have 3 cells and each contact gives 30% of the power from the battery? Wondering if one of the contacts is faulty.
