**HTC HD2 Thread**

Are you sure its unlocked? T-mobile and Virgin sims are interchangeable as its the same network. Try another sim in it if you can, be handy if it is.

edit this is assuming you have the Virgin deal.

Ah, I didnt know they would be interchangeable between v-mob and t-mob. Interesting! Ah well, I wouldnt know if it accepts any other network sim as I dont have one.

Hmm every now and then i get an odd problem, was just in the select sms alert page and the screen was going up and down like it was getting input but i wasnt touching the screen, its happened a few times when browsing web also.

I got my phone from virgin too and it actually has my vodafone sim at the mo. (long story. Work etc) So its fully unlocked and unbranded!!.

Anyway on a sidenote. I purchased a class 6 16gb Lexar micro sdhc card for this which comes with a card reader. Suffice to say its gone belly up. Transferes some albums over which took an eternity but at 7mb/s which is normal. Now its unreadable. It wont format. I cant delete and although it still shows in windows I am unable to do anything with it.

Has anyone purchased said card or has any advise. It does look like a rma though.

Hmm I had to hard reset my phone to get around the "password invalid" bug. Highly annoying.

But what's more annoying is the fact that my 16GB Sandisk card now seems to be randomly disappearing :/

To anyone thats got this phone on virgin. I cant receive or send MMS.

Rang them up and they dont have any setting available as theyve just got the phone themselves. Anyone else having problems? They were suprised it wasnt working out of the box..

was having problems with mms also, it seems the settings are incorrect in the mms tab

try this

go to messsage tab, then all messages, then menu - settings - options, then menu - mms server, select virgin mms

ip address should be 193.30.166.2
port number 8080
server address http://mms.virginmobile.co.uk:8002
wap version 2.0 then done, back, done and try resending it worked for me as my settings were slightly different.

I got mine on virgin yester day, charged the battery with it turned off, put the sim in, selected virgin on the setup screen, then got a text from virgin saying your plan was active and internet browsing activated, had no problems sending or receiving.

Having used all manner of htc phones i can't get over how fast this is out the box, keyboard can take some getting used to though and can be over sensitive but i find just jabbing the word i want it picks the nearest 99% of the time, sometimes i find i drag my finger left or right off the key and it selects the wrong letter but i'm getting used to it.

:( MMS still won't send or receive. Not really sure what to do, its not on vigin's website to downloads mms setting for this phone yet.

Well I think it's safe to say the HTC Messaging app works perfectly well now :) I've done a lot of the tweaks that were on the XDA forums now and HTC sense is much better to use now.

I had actually switched to the WM default after downloading Home Screen Customizer which allows the addition of different tabs such as APPs which makes things a lot easier and nicer to use but I'm back to sense now :)

You could say you've come to your senses? :D

What tweaks have you done to improve the messaging, im still finding it way sensitive.

Placed an order yesterday through dial-a-phone for a HD2 on Vodaphone. went for a 12 month contract as i tend to get ready for a change after around a year. 600 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet for 45 a month with the phone being £29. the deal isnt the greatest minutes wise but it is only a 12 month contract so for me im happy with it.

I currently have an iPhone 3g which is jailbroken and unlocked., when i first had it not many people had them but now everyone has them so i fancy a chance. not to be different but i feel like the HD2 could prove a better device for me. i love my iphone maybe i will get one of the new ones after my 12 months is up.

I had the iphone (16gb white) replaced under a customer service code as i was past my warrantly so its immaculate (about a month of use and i look after my phones) how much do you think would be reasonable to hope to get for it? i was thinking around £300.

Is there a modifying scene like modmyi for the HD2 anyone could point me to?

Damn V-Mobile at the moment... their system is knackered so I can't get them to take my PAC!! Grrr, lol My V-Mob sim is just sitting on the side at the moment.

Hi, I got me one of these now, on a 02 contract. I've no issues with the screen, mms, with the location being spot on, it all worked straight out of the box....
