**HTC HD2 Thread**

yup^

Just noticed on my first vodafone bill that I was charged for sending an MMS even though I have unlimited txts and have only sent 25 messages over the last month.

I always thought MMS messages counted as 3 normal text messages rather than costing 30p

What tweaks have you done to improve the messaging, im still finding it way sensitive.

Used the one on the hints and tips, direct link to the post here though you will need to sign up to XDA to download it.

It decreases the sensitivity slightly allowing for less mistakes in terms of hitting several buttons and getting texts into a mess

Used several others for performance etc but all mostly from the Hints and Tips page on XDA which is linked in this thread somewhere I'm sure :)

was having problems with mms also, it seems the settings are incorrect in the mms tab

try this

go to messsage tab, then all messages, then menu - settings - options, then menu - mms server, select virgin mms

ip address should be 193.30.166.2
port number 8080
server address http://mms.virginmobile.co.uk:8002
wap version 2.0 then done, back, done and try resending it worked for me as my settings were slightly different.

Sorry mate must have totally missed this. Worked a treat thank you :)

What sim card would you like testing?

Think I have vodafone here, can try an orange one this evening (GF's) and hopefully a 3 sim card later on.

I was just wondering if I can sell the phone and label it 'Unlocked', I guess if it works with voda then it should work nicely with the others :) Thanks.

Just wanted to confirm before ordering with Dialaphone... Can I return the phone under the distance selling regs within 7 days? Is it important if I open and use the phone or do I have to return it un-opened? I'd be only looking at doing this if I totally hate it.

I cant see myself returning it as just going on the 12month contract £40 with unlimited Web with Vodafone. If I decide to swap back to the iphone (on the new release) I would just look to sell it...

Cheers

Could someone please confirm if the Virgin HD2 is unlocked?

Thanks

I can confirm through Virgin that its completely devoid of any branding either on the outer surfice or within the software. Again IT IS completely unlocked as I have it running with my vodafone sim card due to work.

My friend who works at phones4u told me I would have 7 days to return the phone if I didn't like it or if I was unhappy with the signal or anything like that. I then rang virgin to ask them the same question, they told me to use it, make sure I liked it, if I didn't I had 28 days to return the phone to them. I'd then get refunded my initial handset price (£79.99) and wouldn't have to pay for my first month. Big thumbs up from me!

I could actually get a month free and make £30 profit as I got cashback via quidco which has already been confirmed :p

Don't just hate the phone straight away though. While it all sounds quite complicated editing the registry and stuff, it actually isn't. I can't even format a PC and I manage messing around with this phone easily even though registry programs sounded a little daunting at first. visit XDA as soon as you get the phone, its fantastic.

best mod for me is the one that allows you to have more icons on the home screen :)

Bit of advice needed - I have just been offered this to replace my nokia n97 - can someone convince me that its a worthwhile replacement - I liked having loads of memory and a keyboard - what does the HTC HD2 offer that will make me forget them?

Having looked around, hardly any sites say it has an fm transmitter - does it?

So keen to get this phone but just waiting for CPW to bring in their O2 retention offers for it. Hopefully can get one by end of the month, fingers crossed. Some nice looking desktop chargers for it, anyone got the genuine car kit for it yet?

Cool... sounds good, I cant see myself not liking it, just wanna have the option!! I love playing around with stuff and making changes... actually thats one of the reasons I hate the I-phone, but it just works so simple!!

Well ordered and on its way!!

If you mean an FM transmitter for short range transmitting to a car radio or similar device, I don't think it does.

Gotta be honest I didnt think any phone did this? Normally they have FM to listen to but not to transmit to a FM radio... all though that would be handy!!
