**HTC HD2 Thread**

Maybe I'm just unlucky then... I'm having no end of trouble with mine...

Have to restart it multiple times a day.

Text input lag (significant... so much it often screws up writing a simple text)

Phone lock ups.

On some custom roms I had battery life lasting under 2 hours from a fresh charge... so obviously, avoided those... lol

There are a few things I like about it... much better for video... wifi hotspot... pretty animations... plus, obviously, the screen is significantly better.

But I would much much rather go back to an iphone so I can have a phone that just works without all these stupid annoyances... maybe win 7 will be better to use... hopefully they'll get that rom sorted soon hehe

Sounds like a faulty phone in all honesty.

I have had none of the issues you mention, on both the official 1.43 and 1.66 roms, and about 7 cooked ROMs since.

I had to hardset it but had to remove the battery and then do the keypress. Its worked and updated to the latest ROM...well thats the line I will let him know.

Co0kie's Home Tab v1.7.0 released today - DEFO worth installing. (you can change the clocks, lock screen and lots of other bits now) :D

Well I managed to damage my HD2 beyond repair :(

Some guy barged into me in the street as I was on the phone and it feel and the screen cracked like anything  Part exposed over the call button and everything! Anyways I should have taken some pics but I forgot, it's been away with my insurance company and for my £25 excess I'm getting a brand new handset as it is beyond economical repair :)

Anyways I am now finding myself in a predicament where if the new handset thats been ordered is essentially a full retail pack, sim free or locked, do I sell up :p I mean I do love my HD2 but looking at the newer handsets like Desire etc I could essentially get myself a quick "upgrade" so to speak.

How is the latest ROM operating for those who are still using the official ROMs? I seen 1.72 was up on Vodafones website :)

got it installed - pretty easy really. certainly seems to have made a difference in the speed of the rom - added some nice features also.

Indeed. I installd energy this morning and its very good. Very happy chap :D

Still wish i'd of got a desire tho..

I had that option but chose the hd2, primarily becuase i had the hero before and got bored of android very quickly. I've used the desire quite a bit and although its a great device it wasnt for me.

How do you find the battery life on the energy rom - maybe a little early to tell but it seems to drain it quite fast.

Also do you know if swype was cooked into the energy rom and if so how to turn it on?

Too early to tell yet, re battery life. think it looks beautiful tho.

regards to swype mate i dont think its there, cant find it on my phone!

You may already know how to find swype if it is there but if not click the little downwards facing arrow next to your keyboard icon. It brings up a menu to select swype if it is installed. Failing that there is a post in this thread somewhere to download the beta cab.

Flashed my first rom yesterday and it seems to have solved my texting probs and the constant slowdown of the phone.

Reinstalling my apps now, the main ones I use are:

Torchbutton
MyPlayer
Coreplayer
Resco Radio
iGo8
Bejewelled 2

Can any one spec me some new usefull ones? Keen to find some decent games, most ive tried are buggy as. Also annoyed as solitaire seems to have been removed after flashing the new rom

Thanks will check em out. Got morphgear last night and it seems very buggy, wont let me adjust the screen size in options, then let me leave the options page.
