Looking for a new phone as my contract is up...

HTC Sensation is a strong contender, just not sure if there's anything else out there.
I have a BB Bold 9700 and I've loved it. Battery life is the strongest quality I like due to me being able to use the Bold when I'm out on the bike to track via GPS.

I don't want an iPhone.

Anything else worth a look?

Thanks Paul but should have said I've seen a few and the battery life is truly dire! Very nice phone though, very light and a great screen.

Bold 9900 would be the natural upgrade path, but the battery life has taken a hit over the 9700.

As for Android, it's the HTC Sensation vs the Samsung Galaxy S II. Enjoy - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18277742

The Motorola Razr and Galaxy Nexus are both due out fairly soon as well.

The battery life on the Galaxy S II is not 'dire' at all, the Sensation is in fact considerably worse.

for the benefits of such a great phone, the battery is a secondondary issue for me as i can just charge it when i need to

and its not that bad really

The GS2 has fantastic battery life best battery on a Android phone around.

Maybe the new Razr and Galaxy Nexus but I still say the GS2 is still the best Android phone about.

I've just got a Snesation XE and I'm loving it so far, a great step up from my iPhone 3GS.

if your looking at a sensation get the sensation XE with its upgraded cpu at 1.5ghz dual core, 768mb ram and apparently they have fixed the battery life issue that then sensation has aswell with a better battery.
and not to mention the beats audio and the same price!

if your going on contract i recommend buymobilephones.net, its such a good site and is a lot cheaper than anyway else, the XE starts at £25.54 a month and the phone free on a 24month deal :D

dont get what the obsession with battery life is.

whats the big deal charging the phone every night? or getting a car charger, or a second charger for work ?

Actually the Sensation and the Sensation XE are identical phones. Only differences is the XE has a larger capacity battery, and the CPU is clocked to its intended speed of 1.5Ghz, well it also comes with a set of beats headphones.

Root the Sensation and you can clock the CPU upto its original intended speed of 1.5Ghz, also flash the XE rom and get all the beats software too.

Saved me £150.

Then buy a decent set of headphones and a high capacity battery. ......... wouldnt it have been easier to have spent the extra money, and the xe looks cooler.

it'd be nice to go away for the weekend and not worry about being stranded with a dead phone, like you could with a nokia 3210 for example:p

if you dont want a iphone i would wait a week or so for the galaxy nexus

I too am going to buy a Sensation XE from an Iphone 32GB 3GS upgrade, android OS is only getting better and iOS's seem to be staying the same with minor upgrades + the customisiablity is soooo much better on the androids AND with the sensation XE it is 4G ready <3 - just waiting for a particular phone company to pull its finger out its ass to get it sorted for me!
