HTC Touch HD... 800x400, 5MP, GPS, 3G, 3.5mm jack...

This is going to kick the arse off of the Xperia if it's all it appears to be...

Why's that?

From my reckoning the internal hardware is exactly the same, and the screen (from what I read) is 3.2 inches, 0.2 inches bigger with the same resolution. The only difference I can thathom is the lack of QWERTY, different front UI, the lack of as many buttons and (probably) a worse external build.

Having said that it looks a nice phone, and I would be tempted if it arrived in time for my contract renewal (which it won't).

This screen is around 4", around 0.8" bigger, and the 80 less pixels wil lmake no difference. The Sony also has from all reports a less than tactile keyboard, especially compared to the Touch Pro. This also has a higher quality camera and much more pleasing dimensions. Browsing on this thing is going to be a serious pleasure. :)

i was split between the iphone 3g and htc diamond, mainly the GPS and lack of apple software crap was why i wanted the htc, and the big screen + big storage was why I wanted the iphone. Now I can get the best of everything (micro sd = storage win), plus a better camera, plus higher def. screen... no brainer to me now... I *will* buy this phone :p

3.8" does sound good, that's the only thing about the Xperia, it's screen is smaller than I had hoped (but then again something like a screen will always be smaller than hoped for:D). Keyboard wise, it's open to interpretation, some say it's a beauty to use and others say it's not brilliant, about 50:50 from what I have read so...Dimensions, again that's a personal opinion, I really don't like the huge number of wide and thin pieces of electronics coming out, they aren't good to hold, and remember the reason the Xperia is thicker is because it has a fold out QWERTY keyboard underneath, this doesn't.

True about the camera though, it's just a shame like the Xperia it doesn't have a proper flash as well as LED's.

Again why isn't it coming out at the end of this month, it would have been good to test both out before choosing which to buy, but as there is a 3 month wait for this the Xperia looks like getting my money.

I just don't see what HTC's problem is... they make a phone that has killer specs but ALWAYS leave things out that would stop it being the perfect phone. Where's the 30fps video recording? The processor is quick enough. Where's the camera LED or flash? Every other phone has one.

Just ****ing get it right HTC!

might as well wait for this one, was initially gonna get the omnia when my upgrade was available, (end of november) but this seems to be even better.

Looks really nice, love the res + size of the screen. I would have gotten one of these phones, only thing is I just got an Omnia about 6 weeks ago (although im loving it)!

I wonder why they did not put a flash on it, cant be that hard to install!

Does anyone know how much these will retail at?
