What the hell are HTC smoking!?

I have made this bundle available from all the parts we sell separately for anyone who wants one, and doesn't already have a vive, and who can't wait for when they surely release a bundle later in the year. I think they wanted to just get the headset to market first and recoup some of the investment in retooling the factories before going for full production run for bundles and hitting the Xmas retail period hard.

Fair enough, I suppose if you have that much money to spend then go for it, way too ruch for my blood.

I'm still excited by the Vive Pro, as in the summer last year I made myself a budget of £2,500 for a completely new PC build and the best VR headset on the market come November 2018. That will be more than enough i said. Now, in March, im looking at needing half of that budget for the VR portion alone. Definately cant build a good enough rig for £1,250 to run the VIVE Pro as it should be experienced either. Sooo... I think im out!

If two and a half grand is not enough to get the premium VR experience then I think ill just get a nintendo switch and forget about these things for the next two years.

Just grab a Vive or Rift, sure the *slightly* increased resolution on the Vive Pro would be nice, but it’s not worth the premium over the Vive or Rift.
You won’t be disappointed with either.
£2,500??? Mate, you can get a Rift for £399 or the the Vive for £499, or the Lenovo Explore for £200, the PC could be built less than a grand and you would have an amazing VR experience.

People read to much into the hardware requirements on VR and it puts them off, I use an r9-290 and there’s nothing I can’t play thanks to oculus’s ASW and the admittedly dated graphics that VR games have.

Forget the switch, forget the Vive Pro, Forget the ‘best headset and best graphics card’ and get yourself immersed in VR

That's a pass from me. £500 would have been the most I'd be prepared to pay for the HMD on its own given that it's only a relatively minor resolution bump and little else. I'd rather put £800 towards an overpriced 1080Ti.

Pimax it is then.

Thanks. Ordered, Waste of money yes and no. With no Oculus 2 on the horizon, should last at least a year paired with a 1080ti. will use for Iracing.

Tempted. Having owned an Oculus DK2 I was never tempted by the first gen of commercial VR. I'm still not convinced the resolution upgrade is enough - I think 8K per eye minimum.... - but I'm so fascinated by the tech, I might set fire to some cash for this.

You know, I may just get a Rift this summer along with my planned new PC build, minus the new GPU, and just stick my GTX 970 in there. Should hold out for two years right? :)

(As a side note, i just ordered a SNES Mini. Covering all bases!)

Your 970 is about the same as my 290 in terms of performance so maybe not 2 years on the latest and greatest games, although my trusty old 290 is still holding up perfectly fine, I am eyeing up an upgrade this year. But your 970 is more than adequate for an amazing VR experience on current titles.

For anyone thinking about buying a Rift, I can’t recomend buying a 3rd sensor enough, two sensors worked fine for forward facing game, or room scale in a small space, when placed diagonally, but 3 sensors gives perfect tracking and takes the immersion up to another level

Our first tranche of stock of VIVE PRO shipped today. We only received 18 units which means there are lots of people who pre-ordered who will still be waiting. We shipped on a first come first serve basis. Our next stock is due to land with us on the 11th after which we should be able to ship to all who have pre-ordered (unless we again go over that allocation in the meantime).

To everybody who will be receiving them tomorrow I hope you enjoy and everybody who is still waiting thanks for your patience!

Thanks Overclockers! Got my Vive Pro yesterday, so glad I ignored the doubters and moaners and jumped onto the pre-order asap.

This HMD is awesome. If anyone is thinking that a Samsung Odyssey is a decent alternative to the Pro, it isn't! I've got an Odyssey and it's not going to be getting much playtime anymore.

Just had word that the second tranche of stock has been delayed by 1 week. I haven't been given a reason why but they assured me the stock has been delayed across the UK, so it isn't just OcUK customers hit by it. The next 36 units will be landing next Monday or Tuesday (16/17th)! Over half of these have been pre-ordered already. If you want to be sure of one in April I'd get a pre-order on if you hadn't already!

Apologies for any inconvenience, thanks for your patience!
