HTC Vive

Someone mentioned waterproof covers for the Vive to stop it getting too sweaty - are these needed and if so where to buy them from?

vrcover.com

Just go for the cloth covers for personal use. You get a pair so you can wash one while wearing the other assuming you spend 24/7 in VR!

I'd have to try it without the cover again but I reckon it's definitely more comfortable with it on and I can't remember suffering any misting since using them too.

They order in batches so you may have to wait unless there are alternatives now.

Can people see if their camera works in the likes of Skype and windows 10 camera app. Mine doesn't work in anything except hangouts and obs. I know it works, I'm wondering if there are a batch of cameras that have a slightly different firmware/chipset and steamvr can't work with it with current drivers.

do you have any 'ghost devices' under imaging devices in device manager?

-Launch command prompt (Start > type cmd in the search box). Command box will appear.
-Run this command: set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1.
-Then, run the command devmgmt.msc to start Device Manager from the Command Prompt.
-Once the Device Manager appears, click on View > Show Hidden Devices.
-Expand imaging devices
-do you see any entries with lighter, transparent icons?

So this just happened:

Yeah, the second package is because of a Logmein screw up by HTC so I had two active orders.

Yes I plan to sell the second headset, not sure I can be bothered with the hassle of Ebay though so I might stick it on the MM or sell it to a friend.

Planning to setup Vive in the living room (when I'm allowed by Her Indoors!) for room-scale but my Man Cave will only fit the Standing room only one – how much of a difference is there? Do you need to walk around a lot, ideally?

I had the same plan. Personally I gave up of the idea of anything but room scale. I've mounted my lh in the lounge... Whilst ED looks good personally I would now feel restricted. But that is my personal choice, not a comment on seated experiences. But yes for me seated isn't worth the effort of moving my lighthouses.

So just so I'm clear.
1. Ensure Oculus home is installed, registstered and running.
2. Allow apps to run from Unknown sources.
3. Ensure steam and SteamVR are running.
4. Copy Revive folder and ReviveInjector.exe to the same location as the game executable (E.G. for DreamDeck - D:\Oculus\Software\oculus-dreamdeck\WindowsNoEditor\Dreamdeck\Binaries\Win64)
5. Drag executable (E.G. for DreamDeck - Dreamdeck-Win64-Shipping.exe) onto the ReviveInjector.exe executable.
6. Game then runs.

Right?

Just tried this method (with Lucky's Tale) and it worked great - It's also first thing I have tried where the camera moves independent of my head and that felt so strange!

Anyone know how to get Euro Truck Sim 2 running in Vive?
When I launch it, I just end up playing the game in a virtual theatre.

Tried adding -openvr to properties and unticking Theatre mode but just get message saying "not compatible with VR".
