HTPC card

The new S3 Chrome 400's series cards are ment to be best for HTPC systems(price/performance). Not sure on avalability or exact prices as they just came out :p

They wont work that well on games tho.
 
btw, the low end ati's will also really blow for games

i've got a HD2600pro (better than those cards above) in my media pc, and it can play TF2 at 1360x768 pretty well, but no AA on etc..
 
If you haven't got a mobo already get one with onboard and an HDMI socket. the better ones do the 8-channel LPCM too over HDMI too.
