HTPC Project [Build Log]

Looking really nice!

Thanks

It is looking good

Also did you find it difficult to rewire your fans as per your diagram above?

Actually with a bit of soldering experience and a soldering iron stand it was surprisingly easy.

Just trim down an ATX wire and solder 3 male fan wires to it, twice

Then a single female -> male fan wire will serve as the RPM wire

And a female to 3 male fan wire will do the PWM.

I measured them up to the same length as the wires to the same connecter and then soldered them all together.

It was the sleeving that I had issues with... but that's all done (except I need 1 more black 4 pin fan header....)

I also realised I could run my slimline Blu-Ray power connector off the same ATX connector

There haven't been any updates in a while because I've had a lot going on with everything else...

Well my crimps have finally turned up:

This allowed me to shorten the cables on the last fan without soldering it...

And install it:

I might have done some of the cabling a little short, and now I've got the tools to do so I might redo it properly.
This is a top down view, showing the new cabling and the new fan installed at the front of the case.

I removed the 6 wire combs and replaced them with 12's

And I started crimping some wires:

And did my first dual wire ATX cable:

That took me until about 2am, so I decided to get some sleep...

There are 2 photos which are not playing ball, Photobucket doesn't want to let me resize AND rotate, it's one or the other.
I'll retake them later.

Sorry real life got in the way of this build unfortunately.

Well after repeatedly getting fed up with not being able to bend the acrylic nicely I finally decided to switch manufacturer / distributer.

I bought 2m of EKHD Acrylic tubing, which arrived yesterday, and finished off the build last night.

I just need to colour match the liquid now, I will upload some photos once I get home tonight.

A little later than promised...

I'm going to redo a little of the cabling because it's a little messy, and I still need to work on colour matching the coolant.

I also want to take some shots with better lighting and a deacent camera in a few days and get them uploaded...
