Huawei p30

I have a P2 also & am thinking about upgrading but I can't see that the P30 is going to be that much better than the P20 Pro, which I assume will now drop in price.

At the moment, both come in at very similar prices on contract. I suppose that the one thing the P30 has going for it is newer tech. My other thought is a Samsung Galaxy S9.

*Edit* Or even the OnePlus 6T

Xiaomi have been roasting them in their tweets.

I'm a bit surprised they went from quad hd to fhd display. Still the same soc so unless you really want it for the camera, not a game changer.

OP7 will still be around £300/£350 cheaper than P30 - whether the features/camera is worth the price difference is down to personal preference.
Very true. See what the reviews say. Camera is not at the top of my list. Battery is, so of the P30 or Pro can last a considerable time longer it might be worth it. Screen size as well, like the idea of the bigger screen on the Pro.

You going for contract your buying outright?

If your after a large screen and battery (5000mAH!) the Mate 20x is starting to drop in price, £669 from the UK, you get a headphone jack and stereo speakers as well.

Buy outright. Don't need head phone jack or stereo speakers.
In order its Battery life > Screen > Camera > Looks > Storage. Wouldn't mind waterproof either.

Do we know that for sure though? OP are hardly the 'small' fish in the sea anymore and they have been upping their prices with each new release.

As for the P30, it looks great yes and the camera tech is excellent news. EMUI is a problem for me as I've played with a few 'mate' (I believe) phones in the past year and they all felt rather cumbersome on the UI front to use. Also chinese manufacturers tend to use slower/cheaper storage solutions so maybe this will change things up on the read/write end of things.

Agreed, about time they stopped using numbers for marketing and just made a good phone fit for purpose. Actually really liking what i read about the P30 Pro, price not so much, going to have to see some reviews side by side of this and the OP7.

Tempted by camera. But my s7e was 5 times cheaper. Don't think it's 5x better.

Plus no headphone socket.
It's only phone I'm tempted by, but not. Enough

For me. Waterproof /camera > headphone jack >battery >>>>everything else

Well, I was thinking about upgrading my Lenovo P2 to a Huawei P20 Pro but now I'm considering the Huawei P30 instead.

I literally only really use my phone to take pictures/ film, watch things and Spotify.

The headphone jack and expandable storage of the P30 are enticing me but it has a smaller battery which is a big deal considering the Lenovo has a 5,100mAH battery. (P20 Pro 4,000mAH v P30 3,650mAH). Although I imagine they manage power better than the Lenovo.

Hmmmm. Any advice?

i went from P2 to p20 pro. sold the P2

6 months later.....to be honest i regretted that i sold the P2

priorities has changed since. battery is far more important than the camera. even camera on P2 is good enough to justified to keep.

i'm gutted. P2 was the BEST overall phone i ever had.

i got my eyes on the new samsung M30
