Huel: The Future of Food ..

And how did you feel?

I relapsed half way through the week and went to town on a Chinese. But if I'm being honest apart from having 1 take away and 1 bowl of cereal I've stayed true to Huel and I've also been going to the gym before work so I am doing much better than I was last week.

Oh I'm restarting as I was doing a lot of travelling over last two weeks so doing three weeks from today, only other things I'm allowing myself is a cup of coffee a day along with theanine and creatine as my supplements. I'll also be able to "brag" how I once went vegan for three weeks :p

So you will bringing it in casual conversation all the time? :p:D I'll be interested in how you go with this, fair play to you though.

It's not that calorie dense so you'd have to mix it with milk (unless dairy is not an option) as to add significant calories you'll have to eat a lot of the stuff, but perhaps still cheaper than buying MRPs from supplements stores.

I ordered a 1 months worth. Gonna have 2 shakes a day with whole milk to give me a bit of a boost. To be honest even just having the better nutrients is a bonus for me. Diet has always been my weakness when training.

I have been using this for a while but only 4 scoops a day. The taste of standard vanilla is generally ok but it turns out gloopy when mixed with milk and left for a few hours. It's much better if you mix it and drink straight away both because its more pleasant and you can gulp it down.

I've actually moved over to the bars now mainly for convenience. My friend gave me one to try when he ordered a few and I prefer the taste to the powder. The problem is the price is a fair amount more so I ordered the maximum amount and took up a subscription at the same time. It works out about 50% more expensive than the powder if done that way which isn't amazing but it I can live with the increased cost. I certainly wouldn't advise buying the bars in any other quantity as they're just rediculously expensive. They work out about the same calorie/cost ratio as a sandwich (500/£2.58) if bought this way.

I didn't see this in the first post but there is a referral scheme for Huel(at least there was a month or so back) so its worth asking one of the forum members for a code for anyone whos considering trying this. Both parties get £5 off, I would link to mine but I'm not entirely sure i can link to it without getting in trouble

I also have a really bad diet and I get a lot more of my protein than i should in powder form, i'm just one of these really lazy people who cant be bothered to cook and invest time into preparing food. I would probably shrivel up and die without my powdered oats and some form of whey protein.

One big thing I underestimated with doing this for 3 weeks is that I love spicy food and use a lot of chilli in my food. Maybe I should see how well unflavoured Huel goes with some chilli flakes and Tabasco :D

What do you class as warm? I can do one for science, normally just make them with room temperature water from the Brita filter and down them.

I make mine around 0630 and then don't put it in the fridge at work so it's kinda warm by lunchtime, I like it.

My weight has steadily dropped, mostly due to the "cleaner" food as I haven't been exercising more than normal.

Still not sure if it's worth £40 pm for me, but still have 1.5 bags to go.

Hmm interesting, might cancel my 2 weeks Huel supply coming next week and get this instead, works out just about half the price for two weeks with the code. Macros are almost the same, seems only the vitamin profile is higher.

EDIT: Wait, maths fail because I'm too hungry :p Still good two thirds of the price. Cancelling Huel and getting this for remaining two weeks.

Well I had a hot roast at lunch today... it was steaming , hot and satisfying, that huel could never achieve. :p

I'm not suggesting it should be that hot but what, would it be like if it were hot like soup?

Well vanilla would probably taste like dreadful school custard and I imagine unflavoured would just be like a bowl of finely milled oats, not sure either would be particularly satisfying in that respect!
