** HUGE PRICE DROPS - PLANTRONICS GAMECOM 380 and 780 GAMING HEADSETS **

I have the 780s but I presume they are similar, the mic came taped to the headband out of the way (I have left it like that as I haven't used it yet) but I presume it can be left in that position anyway

You can just rotate it upwards so its out the way completely. It holds itself in position and won't drop down.

Yeah 380's are good got some from here for my mate, but was only £18.50 last week. Guess they sold that fast they warrant a slight price hike. But still a decent pair for that price.
 
Ohh and also the cable seems very short. My mates PC case is on the floor and when plugged into his souncard at the back it only has enough length if he sits straight at his desk. Had to turn the case to the side and position the case at his feet for it to have comfortable length.

Just a heads up. Not knocking em but cut a piece of string around 1.5m-2m and thread it from back of Pc and see if there is enough slack for where the cable has to run otherwise you would have to get an extender.
 
How's the mic compared to the Kave's?

I found that the mic on the Kave's to be pretty poor, constant (but quiet) hissing noise when I'm speaking on Ventrilo. Had the 5.1 Medusa previously and the mic was much better.

Also the Kave's warped the top of my head hah. :D
 
which of them are you looking at?

the USB ones are fine from what i have tried but the 380 will depend entirely on what you plug them into, soundcard onboard etc
 
Sorry, I meant to say the 780's >.<

Looking at replacing the Kave's and was going to go back to the Medusa's until I saw these, though I normally wouldn't go with USB the price has me tempted.
 
I think you will be surprised, for a budget set they are very good. Feel and sound quality is brilliant. You need to remember that plantronics started out in aviation audio, their headsets are used on airforce one and you can tell that some of this heritage is present in the new gamecoms.

I do like the Kaves and the surround sound is arguably a little better on them but the 780 is a great alternative given your circumstances.
