HUGE problem!!!

hey peeps, i have just got another great pc for my birthday and well the main problem is that it dosent work, i got it out of the box and here is the list of specifications:
i5 2500k overclocked to 4.7GHZ (again)
2TB seagate hard drive
upgraded graphics card (cant remember off the top of my head)
gigabyte motherboard (z77 i think?)

i can start the machine up and it will sucsessfully go to the windows 7 loading page then it freezes and goes to bluescreen then it restarts all in one go, i am really annoyed with this becouse i have just got this machine, if any one can help then please do.

Opened the pc case to check all is well? Usually with pre built systems you have to install the graphic card yourself

Check in bios that the Sata ports are set to ahci,if bsod still then set to IDE and try
 
As above, try at stock first to make sure everything is working fine, it also wouldn't hurt to update the motherboard BIOS as Sandy on Z77 may cause some issues.
 
What have you changed to get your overclock to 4.7GHz?
If you've just whacked up the multiplier and left everything else at auto then you can expect what's happening. You WON'T get 4.7 stable on stock volts (or with auto) so if you've not upped this then time to do some reading.


Also, don't read this as "turn the voltage up" make sure you know what you're doing first.
 
ok peeps, it looks like it was the companies fualt, when we baught the machine we "ticked" the box for the OS system to be put on the hard drive, by the looks of it there was no OS system, but for some reason there was a windows page that came up, i will keep you posted on what happens becouse i really do like this machine, thanks for the advice (good to know there are people who want to help) should be posting some pics later, there are no lights in the case yet so will have to go out and get some.

i have no idea??? unless they tried to install windows 7 and there was a problem and they did not tell us? either way i am glad that we have found the problem, thanks for the advice again

If they didn't format correctly after (presumably) installing Windows 7 to test stability then its possible for the boot sectors to still be in tact, could cause the windows boot splash to appear.
 
Have you tried a CMOS reset (unplug PSU and take the battery out of the motherboard if no CMOS reset switch on the back panel)?
How have you checked for the OS?
 
Get a copy of a windows disc off the internet, reinstall windows and put the product key in which came with your copy of windows. That is if it came with one. If it doesn't work you know its hardware
 
ok peeps, im done for the night scratching my head or i will have no hair left, i have looked through the bios and all programs seem to be in order, then i have looked into the 2TB hard drive and it seems to have a "partitioned" section that the operation system has been saved to, also i have checked that all of the hardware is correctly installed, all seems to be ok.

the machine came overclocked from 3.3GHZ to 4.7GHZ, i had no part in that, then about resetting the CMOS, if i do that then all of the previous settings will be lost and the machine will go back to being 3.3, at the moment all i want to do is send it back becouse i mean, who wants a computer that does not work when they buy it.

then on to the operation system, apparently it was supposed to be already installed, like i have already said, it comes up with the windows screen, then it bluescreens and then it restarts, the funny thing is that when i try and reinstall windows it comes up saying "could not run windows setup becouse it was an NBR"

overall im completly and uttterly shocked that once again another computer company has failed to deliver what they sell, i think im gonna give up for tonight becouse A = its my birthday and also i have other things to do.

Take some pics with your phone of each BIOS page/setting then you won't lose anything,try and find the SATA settings and test with it set to IDE mode

But for now happy birthday and enjoy it,sort it out 2morro
 
If you've taken some pics, upload em to an album and link the album here. Sure someone will be able to spot something!
 
ok peeps, day to of head scrathing, i have tried to boot up in safe mode and for some wierd reason it has bluescreened there aswell, its asif the computer is trying not to load the OS becouse it could create a bigger problem, the next wierd thing is that if i take out the graphics card and restart the system and try to load the OS it does the same thing where it freezes BUT it does not bluescreen???, it goes straight to restart, i can try and upload some pictures, i also tried to boot from the "last" well known time, this just made the system restart, i am serioulsy concidering sending in back becouse this is starting to get silly.

I really think it's something to do with the overclock, if you can get into the BIOS and set everything to the defaults it may run properly.

I wouldn't be worried about losing your overclock as people on here will be able to give you good advice on getting a nice stable one.
