Humans

I've removed red meat from my diet. Increased my rates of recycling. I cycle to work rather than drive. I've cut down massively on the purchase of new goods and in particular avoid those that have been imported preferring to focus on UK manufactured items where possible.
Far from perfect but it's a start.
I've started to do the same. I'm still eating meat (very little red meat) but I walk or cycle where I can, try to use public transport where I can't, look for locally produced food and goods, don't buy unnecessary stuff, often buy used things instead of new, recycle what I can, etc. Again not perfect but if we can each reduce our impact on the environment then it will help.

The thing is, the small sacrifices you make are basically completely undone by that 1 guy in America who's driving around in a 7 litre SUV for the sheer hell of it, except there isn't 1 guy it's basically the entire country.

Check out the above for instance, we're already pretty good in the UK, but it seems utterly pointless when there's a country with 5x our population emitting 2.5x as much c02 per capita.

Completely true. But we can only do what we can do and hopefully each of us that sets an example leads someone else to follow.

What we start now will continue with the coming generations, there will be no quick fix and we'll not be around to see the changes we start, as a race we need to be more mindful and more green, period...

Let's be honest here, humans don't give a toss about the planet. We'll continue consuming and screwing the planet until we're walki g around on a desolate barren wasteland staring at our phones, completely oblivious to the fact that we used to habe such an amazing place to call home.

we all can make a difference we just choose not to - everyone who claims to be an eco warrior on here on a forum for people who are pc enthusiasts - with 3 monitors running, overclocking etc etc.. all wasting energy/electricity contributing to CO2..

theres few easy things everyone can do but wont because they dont pay the bills.
1. switch off your monitors/pcs when you leave work
2. offices could switch lights off (& all electrical equipment)
3. waste less paper (of all kind) at work
4. save water (by not flushing after doing no 1)

it may not be enough but it is better than nothing and if all offices did it then imagine the amount of energy/water we would save.

Very simple solution would be to allow for working from home. By not driving into work, that easily offsets the above 4 things you listed. Now with Skype and fast internet at most homes, there's no reason not to do this. Not to mention the amount of energy waste office buildings produce, which is why this would be a great solution if everyone did it. Sadly the technology is there, but people (and businesses) are very slow to adopt to this.

Badgers become an issue, lets cull the badgers, why are we not doing the same with the human race?...

We have been practising in Iraq and afginistan . We are spending billions if not trillions stockpiling the supplies required for the culling . ...
