Humble Bundle problem?

That is a reasonable assessment, and I agree. My issue would be that I was unable to gift my extra keys off to friends, for games that are multiplayer for example.

but HB policy has always been the keys are for your own personal use only, no gifting. just think if you gift the keys they are basically losing out on a sale which is for charity

If this is the case not sure I'll be getting any more bundles, I liked that the keys stayed separate as I didn't want to put all the games on my account as some I would never play.

u can redeem some if u wanted. u just don't click redeem on the game u don't wanna add.

I did that last night

Tbh in many cases people are paying the price of a pint for a good half dozen games.. Why the uproar over HB trying to stop people reselling keys and ripping people off.

If you want your mates to have the same games either buy them one or get them to donate.... Another pint supped.

totally agree!!!

To be fair I dont see what the issue is here? I mean I bought this Bundle myself cost me £2 paid little extra. And look what I got for it, even if you pick one game say Superfrog HD that's £6 alone on steam.

I understand what HB is doing here meny people buy couple keys and sell them on not fair is it when it's all about charity, its not like your over paying now is it?

:D

Then they need to come up with a different strategy to stop people selling them on at higher prices.

But the point is if they market 5 games in the offer but then only deliver 1 of the games then that's blatant fraud tbh. Shouldn't matter if you already have the game or not.

My suggestion for a fix to this would be some kind of disclaimer (that mentions humble bundle, charity and the cost of the bundle) that appears just prior to the key being redeemed. So when someone tries to sell the key onward..the prospective buyer can clearly see how much it was bought for and where etc.

if you already own a game in the bundle on your steam account, you can redeem that game on another steam account. you just don't click redeem for that game, then unlink your steam account then sign in to another steam account then just click redeem for that game and it should be added to that account.

What a ballache to do every humble bundle though, imo.

Plus I bet that will become against their TOS, using multiple steam accounts for the same HB account.

Don't see a problem. Cheap games are still cheap. Just stopping people making money off them, also making it easier to get the games on my account.

Good move to me.

maybe

but even having a game key then gifting it if u already have it is going against their policy. thir policy state the keys are for your own personal use only.

I don't see the problem with what HB are doing. if you already have a game in the bundle simply don't click redeem for that game.

Well thats not too bad then. As i can just unlink steam account then after i've redeemed the games i want then send that games list url (?) to whoever i want to have the rest of the games and they redeem them on their steam account?

:)

yes, i'm not sure if u would have to give them your HB username/ password so they can see the HB download page, then they just sign-in to they steam account to redeem the games you've not redeemed then they just unlink steam account after you've redeemed the games .

but be aware this still goes against their policy has they state keys are for personal use only meaning only for you

Poor move in my opinion, I didn't mind throwing a few dollars here and there for the steam keys even when I had the majority of them in a bundle, just gave away the rest of the keys or swapped them for others, I've also bought multiple copies of bundles before if there gaems I wanted to play MP, just donated the additional keys to mates.

won't be doing that any more and I very much doubt I'll be throwing money away even just for the minumum to get steam keys if it means I'm paying for x number of games but only getting 2/3.

This is why steam bundle packs annoy me can't split them :(

edit: you can still buy multiple copies of the bundle for friends you just use the gift option in HB when buying.

This...

I for one hope they stick with this new move. It show the people that really do want to give money do so..
They people who "say its last tiem I buy from the ect ect" were not even in for the charity anyway but them self.
You can't give the game to a friend? make them buy it? I mean you spend more buying some sweets from the shop.

Yup, well said. I gave away one or two keys to friends and I'll miss being able to do that but really, for the price of the bundle you have to be extremely petty to be annoyed by this move.
