My prediction is that Horner will whinge about something...

The idiot really doesn't know when to STFU!

Obviously both are vile and inexcusable in their own way, however they are not comparable. By using but, by putting them together, Horner is treating them as if they are.

You would think after having to sack a Red Bull employee after they sent racist comments on social media this really isn't the line you should be taking! The blokes a cretin.

It’ll be interesting to see where the pace is at come race/quali. I wonder whether Horner is starting to worry. One can certainly see Mercedes grabbing the WCC due to Perez’s recent slump. Mercedes desperately need a 1-2 this weekend to get back on tracking to keep that momentum their way.

I'm not convinced perez is doing enough. I expected a bit more I have to say

Likewise. Not sure if it’s having the new car, that their focussed on Max or that he just isn’t that quick. I didn’t expect him to struggle this much, but then he’s not the first RB driver to be in that position.

No he's not.
It's an odd one. Until now I've just thought the other drivers albon and gasley weren't so good. But perez has been around long enough to be decent in my book.

I'd love to know if
-max is amazing.. Like better than Hamilton
-the car is designed around him
-the environment is toxic to second drivers

Lewis and max in same car would be the dream for all.of us I guess

Edit.
Completely fed up with rbr whining about the accident last race. Seriously I'm no Lewis or max fan. Let it go

The problem is , the RB would have to be a bad car and Max good enough to overcome it.

I don't think the RB is a bad car, I think Perez is below average and teams need to start questioning the abilities of all drivers more closely.

To me it seems like the RB isn't particularly a bad car or anything but seemingly a tough car to extract the maximum from. No doubt Adrian Newey is probably quite uncompromising with the design and the drivers thoughts and feelings on driving it it take a step back. What also occurs to me is that Max has had the benefit of basically growing up with this car through its development, maybe even getting certain things past Newey to tailor the car to his needs?? I also think there's no doubt Max is a pretty special driver who is able to drive the RB at the limit and beyond. The fact that all these 2nd drivers have come and gone just seems to me like they aren't the ones to extract that last 5% from it? Seemingly the last to be able to do so was Ricciardo who now struggles with the Mclaren?!? (Making this whole thing even murkier... :D Unless of course Lando is also one of these last 5%'ers and is just out driving him?!?)

I don't think the RB is bad, it is almost certainly designed to favour Verstappens preferences, and it appears he can handle/likes a twitchier car than some so it's always going to be hard to come in and compare straight away.

It's also worth remembering, especially against Perez, that essentially Verstappen is running an upgrade ahead of Perez, so he has (or should have) the fastest car every race. Obviously that doesn't explain the whole difference though.

Perez doesn't seem to qualify particularly, which is a problem in F1, on times we've seen him get to the front with the rest of them and he's not a million miles away from Bottas' level. Just Bottas can qualify.

tbh i thought Perez was doing a pretty solid job, he certainly hit the ground running for someone new to the team/car. Cant see him being a WC anytime soon but when lady luck is on his side he's more than capable of bringing the fight to Bottas.

Agreed.

Perez’s job is basically beat Bottas and it’s a hard thing to judge as Bottas has an extra DNF but Perez has Silverstone. Though Bottas is well settled in the Merc compared to a new team and car for Perez. All that said and they’re basically on the same points so I think it’s a little harsh to judge Perez badly.

With the seemingly better pace of the Red Bull I’d hope Perez can outscore Bottas over the season.
