That's good news. :)

Hopefully the worst is now over and the power comes back on and the clean up can begin for those places hit hardest.
 
Hospital being evacuated because the generator has died, not good, also difficult to get them out with no lifts and guys on ventilators and the like, though they should have handcranks and the like, still not great.

CNN just reported what was being tweeted or whatever. There's loads of rumours going around, people being trapped in a nuclear power station etc. stop using the word overhype because you make this sound like a popularity contest. Even IF when this is all over and it was only half as bad as Irene, it's still devastating. Also 'biggest storm in history' isn't overhype, it's fact. Super storm? What's wrong with calling it that? What would you prefer, 'complex hybrid weather system never before seen'?

You lived through 'worse'. Many of these people aren't living through this as easily as you clearly did.

The storm front (75+ mph wind) has reached the wife's place, won't be long till they are right in the eye of it.

Hard to get footage of the storm where it is at the present moment.
 
Looks like it went within a couple of miles of directly over my brother's :eek:

I'm assuming they're trying to sleep at the mo - I can't see any mention of power outages in their area so hopefully they're all ok, just a waiting game now...
 
im kind of worried about my 2 best friends who flew out to nyc on the weekend at the moment.

Was speaking to them all day yesterday but now haven't heard from them since about 11 uk time. Last thing i knew was that they were sat in a bar near the theatre district. I have no idea if that was a area near to all the flooding or whatever.
