Hybrid vs Std HDD

Hey,

I'm needing a second storage unit and 2 have come in within my price budget.

Seagate 1TB Barracuda & Seagate 500GB Momentus XT Hybrid

Out of these two which would you go for and why?

It's required function is one of just storage, though if I got the Hybrid I'd make it my primary drive and use my existing for the storage volume.

My PC is generally used as a media centre with the odd bit of gaming and photo-editing.

If it's for storage, go for the largest you can afford.

As confused says, if for storage always go for the largest drive you can afford.

I've ended up having to go for the hybrid. The 1TB was out of stock and it was only on offer for 24hrs, though I could have had the same drive from the same stockists for £22 more
