I bought a steering wheel, now I need some games

Live for speed(Not to be confused with need for speed) Its years old but still as updates to this day admittedly slowly last time i checked but still as a decent community and every 12 months or so I get the wheel out and fire her up, has great force feedback, still looks pretty decent also... Timeless game that's aged well imo.

I-racing is a game everyone who's nifty on car games and owns a wheel should at least try a full 3 months sub. Amazing online play second to none. Don't buy any content wait for a free 3 month trial to popup and get into Iracing. It can become very expensive but if you do enjoy it pick your content wisely and you can have great fun for less than the price of a new tripple A title every 12 months.

There's a bloody good game made by a south Amercian developer if I remember correctly its a few years old now, but like LFS, Race 07, Richard Burns rally its a timeless game that still plays brilliantly. The name is on the tip of my tongue, empty box used to play it a lot, some of the best force feedback in any sim game.

I'm sure someone will know the name of the game im trying to think of.

Assetto Corsa is a few years old now, that?

I bought Project Cars 2 and I'm reinstalling Dirt Rally. I do have Forza Horizon 3 as well, which was downloading over night so I'll see how that fares with the wheel. Thanks for all the suggestions! How about older games such as GT Legends, Race 07 (and I have a few expansions for this too). I also see the Live For Speed game seems similar to Race 07.

PCars 1 and 2.

I picked up Asseto Corsa in the sale as people rave about it, have to say its like a cheap arcade sim in comparison to the PCars series, especially in VR, glad I didn't pay full price for it.

Dirt Rally is good, although vomit inducing in VR :D

Is it "Automobilista" ?

Stunning game for force feedback. Doesnt look that great but the ffb is possibly the best out there.

Dirt rally is amazing watch any mods you install though as may get you banned check first.it is the best rally game ever made.once you get your settings dialed in.

It’s the best codemasters rally game but it’s not even close to richard burns rally which is still miles ahead of any rally game ever made and widely considered to still be the benchmark. Dirt Rally is fun and all but it has some very strange car behaviour at times, ropey FFB and is far too forgiving when you go over the limit. The world record runs I’ve seen on Dirt Rally look almost comical due to how forigiving things are, compare that to RBR where the world record runs actually look like realistic representation of what’s possible in a rally car.

Obligatory vote for 'find an old copy of Grand Prix Legends, install mods, ???, crash, profit!' ;)

Sent back a Thrustmaster TMX due to faulty fan and replaced with G920. I have Dirt Rally and PCars1, I also have an Oculus Rift. I'd like to pick up PCars2 when it goes back on sale but I'd like to play Euro Truck 2 in vr. Is this possible? I've heard it's a bit difficult to get running

if you have drove some of the cars that are in these sims in real life you would change your opinion.ffb is fine in dirt rally 90 percent of people who play it dont have their wheel set right or know how to set it to get the best out of it.real life rally drivers helped make the game. rbr is just hard for the sake of being hard.its not realistic at all.i have played it a lot.Dirt rally is the best rally game ever made.its great that the community updated rbr for all this time and tweaked it.everyone has their own opinion.mine is not the same as yours.

Dirt Rally and WRC 7 are both amazing. Dirt 4 is pants so you can skip it.

Forza Horizon 3 and 7 are very fun but better with a controller.

GT Sport should be fantastic if you have a PS4, if not PC2 should fit the bill.

WRC 7 with tweaking is the most slept on game of recent times really good rally game.takes quite a bit of fiddling though to get your wheel right.when you do its amazing.they making a isle of man tt racing game as well which if i can find some motorbike sim gear ( doesnt seem to be anything made :( ) will be a instant buy.

Fair enough but you are very much in the minority with your views.

Agree :p

For a classic game don't discount Simbin Race 07 which can be picked up for peanuts. The wheel feedback is awesome. The only sim I can recall of recent years, which has full weather and damage effects and fairly competent AI for offline racing. The only downer, the game is 10 years old so multiplayer is very limited. The game has since been superceded by Raceroom Experience (Free to Play) on Steam. The latter I have a marmite relationship as having spent a fortune, still missing key parts such as dynamic weather and damage model. I prefer Race 07.

If you can fore-go eye candy and don't mind trying different tracks and race series. Brazilian game, Automobilista. A sim generally recognised as having one of the best force feedback experiences in a game. It is based I believe on the Race 07 engine. Try racing a seventies F1 around the original Österreichring - Terrifying. The nearest experience to the old GPL game.

Assetto Corsa, I found personally over-rated. No offline campaign or weather effects, AI is limited, and some cars are in my opinion, simply unrealistic and spin out at 30mph.

Euro Truck Sim 2, you'll be surprised by how hooked that game gets you especially with a wheel and pedals when it comes to parking.

Yes ETS2 is awesome i forgot to mention it, really excellent sim/game and easily one of the best games to sit back and chill out with.
