If the lower legs are behind vegetation, like I dunno, you might find in a wood, you won't see them.

Erm... Then why are the windows of the house behind going towards white (windows allowing more heat out than insulated walls)?
Exactly, hence well insulated roofs of the buildings behind.
So this ghostly figure is walking around in long grass, or just wearing well insulated boots/wellies.
Two ways to trick a thermal camera:
1. wear even thickness of clothes to make your body a similar white.
2. for the inverse, wear some insulating clothes and a hat/balaclava, sit somewhere cold for a few minutes (like a car with the AC right up) and then walk in front of the camera, hey presto, you have a dark blue human shape.
That is why I suggested the exact same view covered by a visible light camera at the same time so you can compare.

lol - youve just bought a 3 grand camera on the basis that cold shows up as white!
ermm i hate to break this to you but white indicates heat, black or darker colours show cold.
That video is proof of nothing. In fact, it is worse that nothing as it is just this kind of 'evidence' that is often offered up by amateurish 'investigators' and serves to only bring ridicule upon an already derided subject.
I strongly suspect, OP, that you are one of those people that simply wish to believe rather than exploring the subject objectively.

I know, right? How dare people ask for evidence before believing outlandish claims?
And that youtube video - no doubt about it, that's a real ghost right there. Definitely not some dude walking through the woods. I can tell because of the pixels and having seen quite a few blokes walking through the woods in my time.
