I cant bring myself to do it

Why do people say this

To help keep them in good condition some people recommend you wash them no more then twice a week. Me on the other hand

They look like a bird has taken a **** and made its home on someone's head.

They're not fashionable.
They're not 'cool'.
They're not your identity.
They're not unique.

They are disgusting.

Get rid.

I don't have them for any of those reason tho, i got them because i feel in love with them the first time round and they are a party of my identity now pretty much i feel

well it was pretty much ment to show the state they are in at the root.

I thought you werent supposed to wash your hair whatsoever when you had dreads (well in a way any hair)?

Maybe do it for charity if you want to do it for your missus, at least that way she wont be able to take all the credit. :p

i havnt washed them in a fair while (i wont say how long) but i thinks a good idea is like once a week.

For charity would be good but then i'm not in contact with many people nowadays compared to say if i was still at college so raising much money at all would be a hassle and who would i give to?

collage pic doesnt show them very well

Just bloody do it. The longer you dwell on it, the harder it will be.

You have to make this decision. How old are you? You do look very scruffy though, I can't see you getting much in terms of job as they're going to hinder your general appearence in terms of neatness!

I do agree though that you should only do them if you yourself feel comfortable doing so. You've got the right idea though that it'd make her happy, is the sacrifice worth it? :p

im 19, currently work i factory doing a lame job but it pays £9+ an hour so its ok in that respect plus i do sod all really but i dont intend on being there long as i wonna go to uni.

Worth it, it could be but i have my doubts if it'll end with just getting it cut and go all out bent fashion hair styles and such which she likes so much, abd thats not gonna happen

I'd say cut them. Not just because your gf wants you to but because I'd say they would also limit your choices when it comes to interviews and job progression.

I'm not saying you should have to change yourself to please others but it's just the way it is sadly. You give a little, you take a little.

Do something crazy with your hair instead. Shave off one side or something.

(though personally hate dreads, especially girls with dreads, just look the mankiest thing ever, shame because they look cool but the poor texture lets it down when its not maintained.)

I think if i were in your position i would shave them. Personally i like the look of dreads and have lived with a couple of people that have had them. They were very neat and really looked the dogs dangle bags. But when they do get to the stage your at, its time to start again i think. As people have said, its not going to help with interviews etc, and really as a general apperance goes, it looks very scruffy and unkept (which may be the look your going for, if so then cool) But like i said i would shave my head and start again if i were you. :)

Also, I bet once you lose them, you'll realise how ****ing heavy they were. In all seriousness, those things must weigh a few pounds.

I bet you feel lovely and free. It'll be like going commando for your head!
