I cant extend my partition

I have a 16GB partition on a HDD not used for OS. When I try to extend it to make the whole drive as one, it says something along the lines of the volume requires contiguous disk extents

Anyone got any idea what this means please?

Is the partition in question at the beginning (left) or end (right) of the disk and are there any other partitions in the way?

Left of the disk and there are no partitions in between.

Are they all Simple volume / Basic disks?

What are you using to extend the partition? Windows Disk Management is very limited.

Try Easeus Partition Manager or Minidisk Partition Wizard instead (both free)
