i core processors

On the motherboard issue, i have a box here

GIGABYTE 770T-USB3 ultra durable 3 motherboard
AM3 CPU Ready

i believe i have 2 usb 3 ports at the back of my machine.

Any tech guys know if that mobo is any good for future gaming, new batman, battlefield 3, skyrim etc

CPUs can last for a very long time, overclocking it won't shorten the lifespan enough to suddenly die in a few years. It will probably last for more than 20 years if overclocked safely. By the time it dies you'll probably have a new system anyway :p. Your board seems fine enough to overclock the CPU to 3.8ghz+ anyway.

I never suggested getting a 580 for myself, I really can't afford it, however 50% of my bills stop in November :D

I'm likely to get a 6950/6970/570. Unless my 460 handles skyrim well...then wait for 7 series.

So can someone tell me then that that current system will run ok with a new gpu, take the 5750 out and say put in the 6950, keep me going in gaming for a while and possibly overclock the cpu ? mainly for battlefield 3 and skyrim

Regarding my current mobo then that supoorts AM3, will it support bulldozer, could go for that and a new graphics chip, if it gives me a significant leap in performance

Just seen an article on it, new one is AM3 + so thats a whole ******* system needed again

That is not strictly true, AMD state they are not supporting bulldozer on AM3 but some board manufacturers are just putting out a bios update to fix it. If your worried about a new system dont be as a simple board swap will sort it. Knowing gigabyte though they will most likely have a bios update ready for the first gen of bulldozer chips.

There is also an article on this in the bulldower thread on the forum

Ok, so it if happeds the am3 boards will be equivalent or simuilar in performance, dont know whether to go for bulldozer or i5 2500 k
