I cycled to work.

42 mins this morning, which is considerably faster than when I started. This was of course the downhill side so this afternoon is probably going to take me forever but it was a small victory for me given that my first run was an hour. I'm also gradually managing to get further up the little hilly bits without changing down or worse, walking. I still haven't managed all the way home without walking or taking a break. The day I manage that will be a huge triumph for me, I might run up and down some stairs and play Eye of the tiger to celebrate :p

My first run out on the bike in a while. Had a seat malfunction as it was quite low, after having it on the turbo trainer for the missus, and it was killing my knees. Will adjust it for the ride home.

Well done diddums, good work and keep it up. I think with the weather how nice it is I am going to do a 10 mile ride home through the parks around my way.

good stuff!! :) keep going at it, pace yourself out in regards to the hill, go slow/easy gear for the first bit and pump hard for the last 0.1mi where the 6-7% incline stars - this is brixton hill I'm talking about.

All the best mate! :D

Thanks, it went quite well!
I beat the bus I normally take and got into town much quicker than expected.

I forgot to record my ride from when I got off the train to work (2nd Half), but will do on the way back!

Great fun. :D - Need full finger gloves for the mornings though. :p

You want some serious lighting power for next to nothing? I have one that's slightly different but it looks the same. It's ridiculous!!

Car drivers think they are a bit too bright though, i always get people coming into work and complaining about bright bike lights

I have the same, bought them some time ago from DX. They are amazing, but would avoid putting them in flash mode as it will annoy people!

I can recommend the Moon Comet as a rear light. I have an ebay Cree special front and I'm not keen on the external battery pack TBH. Great for lighting your way when it is properly dark but for this time of year I'd have another USB rechargeable jobbie.

Well, I did it. Apart from traffic lights, I went non-stop all the way home. Granted a small patch towards the end of Brixton Hill I had to go into my lowest gear and probably look like an old dear but I made it, and in no uncertain terms thanks to the posts on here :)

I also refused to drop to the lowest going up Leigham Court Road and forced that too.

Woop woop :D

This was my commute this morning. I was on a full sus mtb so i could have been quicker on my road bike (which i hate)

I think it's safe to say, it's not really a commute!

Well done btw! It's only gets easier :D

good stuff man! :) you'll soon notice how you get quicker and quicker! hence my recommendation for strava - PR's on segments motivate you ;)

Well done mate, I live in Streatham and cycle past Brixton on my commute to work so feel your pain (although I do have get to the top of Leigham Court Road on my way home, so you could have had it worse!)

Cheers all :)

Caught a tube in this morning, I just need a day off. My wife and I went swimming at the gym after work last night (first time swimming in years) and I think the chlorine messed me up a bit as I'm feeling a bit rough today. Also doesn't help that I've worked 84 hours in the last week and have 36 left to go.

I'll have a nice early night tonight and see how I feel in the morning, hopefully back on it then.

Nothing wrong with taking a rest day :)

Sometimes if I'm feeling ill I find that a very relaxed pace ride can help me feel less rough. Could be worth considering if you're still not feeling 100% tomorrow.

Feeling the burn today!
I'm covering 12 miles (according to strava) a day, across 4 parts which doesn't feel like a lot but it's quite tough!

It has 3 small hill climbs... Nothing majorly special as I've done then loads of times before but they're tough on a commute. Few weeks and I'll be flying up them... Hopefully! :p

Enjoying riding a lot over taxis and busses, I beat my morning bus now. :D

@Diddums, did you get back on yesterday/today? - Fight through the pain!
