My mum and her sister are paying £30 each to go and see Sally Morgan. They really miss their parents and want to make contact.

I cannot believe they are so gullible. How can they believe this con woman who is profiting from their loss and grieving ?

No matter what I say, they are convinced of her 'ability'. These people should not be allowed to get away with these things. Absolute parasites imo. My mum is going to be disappointed because they know absolutely nothing and are just out for a few quid. And then I get to see my mum disappointed which upsets me.

Parasites!

I to have a gullible wife and MIL who fall for these scammers

Wasting your time trying to tell them though

My misses went to see her in September and even she came back saying she was crap and it was a farce.

Still, she already had their pound notes so too late to figure it out...

The problem is that they may well be 'read' and come back claiming all sorts of success based on the techniques that will be used against them.

Yes, but it wont will it? She's a con artist and will give no information unless it's fed to her.

I know that and you know that but your Mum and sister refuse to believe it. People deal with death in different ways and this is their way of helping the pain fade.

Sometimes people need to realise things by themselves.

If it helps bring closure, leave them be.

There's a difference between actual closure and being conned.

This kind of thing is temporary, sure enough one day they will realise that they've been ripped off royally by this person and that short term closure will erupt into something else.

I'm not sure that I'd want to turn a blind eye to my family members being exploited... especially on some vague basis that they might or might not achieve some ill defined 'closure' from seeing someone who, as far as I can tell, seems to basically be a con artist.

Are you saying all psychics are fake, or just Sally?

Actually, I don't believe all psychics are fake. I do believe that some people, who do not seek fame and fortune, are capable of some kind of tuning in, if you will.

However, I also believe that these experiences are bound to places and times. I think that maybe a true medium can go to a house where there has been a tragic event and pick up on the energy there.

I do not believe that some woman can go into a 10,000 seater arena in the middle of Glasgow and suddenly pick up the spirit of Dave, who died 5 years ago in Leeds.

State to them that there's a million dollar prize to prove these abilities, only a fool wouldn't want a million dollars for passing a test.

I would suggest that this money would be better spent on therapy to help them deal with their lose.

Wow. Genuinely didn't expect that reply. I wholeheartedly agree with you.

Go with them. Every time the con-artist asks you guys a question, butt in before your mother and sister say anything and ask her "You tell me?"

All psychics are fake. Those who take money in exchange for passing off their ability as genuine are con artists, simple as. Sadly, some people have a need for the kind of validation that these useless people provide, and convincing them otherwise can be difficult.
