I feel like I'm... done with gaming?

PC building simulator, and I've resubbed to WoW to play over the Christmas break. Enjoying both!

*edit* Clearly posted in the wrong thread :D

I felt this way once upon a time.

Three kids later and I absolutely crave those rare days maybe two or three times a year when I get the place to myself and I grab a few beers and binge hard on a title or two.

You're at a different stage in your life.. I wouldn't think about it too hard!

Must admit that I don't enjoy certain types of games as much as I used to....mainly ones where it only pays if you sink hours upon hours into it (Elite Dangerous).

The thought of spending hundreds of hours in a game...Not for me....But I just built a new PC and played through Wolfensten The New Colossus in 10 hours...Campaign done and apart form a few annoying bits it was a real hoot.

Just playing through the Campaign in Star wars Battlefront 2 that I bought for 8 quid on sale. And enjoying that.

Also Started Shadow of the Tombraider and I'm enjoying that. Although I only play that when my nephew has gone to bed as we have shared our Steam Libraies :)

Still not started Prey? :eek::o:p

Keep your eyes peeled for the new Enderal dlc updates and it's official release on Steam. If Skyrim revivifies you then this total conversion mod should be up your street assuming you've not yet played it -

How does that mod work? I see it's only compatible with Skyrim classic so won't it look really dated?

Not sure if serious :p
Completely serious. Prey (hope you're referring to the most recent Prey, not the early 2000s one), was in many ways just a rehash. Or, ahem, "spiritual successor".

By the end of Prey I'll admit I was pretty bored. All through I was reminded of SS2, a game which I enjoyed a lot more it should be said.

DOOM 2016 is still my "go to game", I can just pick it up and shoot some demons in the face and then drop it again, I just don't have any time to "invest" in gaming any more.

I do still enjoy a bit of Company of Heroes and Supreme Commander which I guess are now really quite "old school", I also really enjoyed the Wolfenstien Series of games

I’m in the process of building a PC, but this time there won’t be as much focus on gaming. In the past I’ve always built a “gaming” PC, then when I get a bit bored of gaming I feel like the PC is a waste sitting there.

So only gone with an RTX 2060 this time and spent the majority of the budget on a solid build. The monitor isn’t gaming it’s a 60hz Dell 1440p with good colours.

It’s a new approach for me but one that reflects my level of interest in games these days. I enjoy occasional sints, and sometimes I’ll get hooked, but almost always I’ll have periods where I’m not gaming. Having a pure breed gaming PC just doesn’t make sense anymore. #casualgamerlife

Horses for courses. To me that like saying if you have played Mario 64, there is nothing new in Mario Odyssey.

OG Skyrim doesn't look that bad but I suppose that it's not going to look like a brand new release...they're talking about a release for the Special Edition later and there's always the possibility of texture mods.

@x-st thanks for the info.

@LiE your plans sound similar to mine. I plan to upgrade my 2700x but I don't think I'll bother upgrading my GPU or monitors. My gaming time just can't justify the enormous cost anymore, plus the games themselves are getting really underwhelming. The games I do play are from around 2013 and the 1080ti copes with ease.

Similar kind of thing for me. I've got kids and a Nintendo Switch so thats kinda fun, but other than that I really struggle to get into the games I used to love. First/third person shooter and anything that has a real grinding element to it just don't appeal to me anymore.

I still quite enjoy strategy and city building type games but in general my desire to play has definitely faded.

I go through phases...but I think I’ll be keeping my 1080ti for a few years....I’m looking forward to that new punk cyber game thingy coming out....but that’s about it...I’ve not bothered with BF5 yet...
