I bet that's the last time you call a customer a ****. ;) Still absolutely no excuses for physical violence on any scale. He definitely needs to see some prison shower room action for his troubles...
 
Mate that looks horrible. Hope you manage to get the book thrown at him. I know you sort of asked for it but there's no call for that sort of behaviour.
 
Defo press charges, people who make these sort of attacks are cowards, bit like the happy slappers. It also makes you wonder what else this guy has done, make sure the pillock gets what he deserves.
 
Well prehaps you should have not called him rick.
If i don't know you as a mate and you call me a rick then I would be peed to.
But the guy was wrong to do that,a lesson learnt I think.

I do wonder what sort of punishment / sentance he will receive. I've heard if people being let off with pathetic punishments as well as pretty harsh ones.

Obviously I would not have called him that if I knew it had caused him any offence. I would have at least prefered he got angry and shouted when I said it, at least then I would have known there was a problem.

No I don't think so, regardless of whether it was a joke or not no one deserves that, if anyone needs to learn a lesson it's the fool that did that to his eye and hopefully he will after he gets charged with assault, nothing anyone says verbally should make you do that to another human-being, especially if this statement is true,

I've had people 'jokingly' say similar things to me before in the past, sometimes it's just the way some people bond with new people by taking the mick, at the times I've taken offence I've just said "I'd rather you not call that tbh mate" and things have been cool.

No matter which way you spin it there was no justification in the attack.
 
tbh, I would smack someone in the face without hesitation there and then if they verbally harass (not in a jokingly manner) my gf or anyone in my family. But Its ok to do it with me, I seem to be quite numb to it :P

I don't see any reason why he hit you tbh, you should definitely press charges.

Minors bro, the blurred vision will go eventually so don't worry about that. I got hit in the eye with a brick which was quite a nasty impact but the blurryness went as the swelling went down after about a week-ish. Although even after a month or so I still occassionally got random squiggly lines and stuff in my sight, but this too went as time passed.
 
Jesus, I would go dish some back, tis how it's done round here. Police won't do anything other than make him more angry and wanting to hit you again.

Yeah he could have just given you some verbals for that. Totally OTT. Hope he gets taken off the streets for a while.
