I hate achievements because...

I love achievements, it kinda gives me a little excitement when I play the game and achieve it - e.g. Guitar Hero 3, it makes me want to achieve better, play better and get more streaks - where as my mate on the PS3 just play to win/pass, not tempted to get streaks.

Something to feel satisfied about nothing to make me want to get 1000/1000, it adds to more game play satisfaction than anything.

I'm a total achievement whore, but I'll still play things like CoD4 MP to death just for the fun of it.
I've also enjoyed all the games I've played and got 1k on, I hated X-Men so i didn't bother playing it just for the points.
I just like the sense of satisfaction really.

This is a very good point.

My brother also only plays to pass the songs on his Wii version, as where I practice to 5 star the songs and get the achievement.

My best example of achievements adding to a game is Crackdown, I only played it through again to try and get some of the achievements, but the more I played it, and levelled up, the better the game got. Also the achievements on that I thought were very well thought out and fun to do.

To some the thought of more achievement points sells games, sad but true.

In that respect achievements was a masterstroke by Microsoft.

Dont think I've played you on COD4MP yet, only ever tend to see Soulja on, who beats me all the time :(

If it wasn't for you stealing all my kills I would be top :p;)

I really like the achievements, I think its a great incentive to play a game to completion. Although since getting COD I have not got a single new achievement (and thats 3 months ago now)

LOL, All i ever see now is a Souja shaped blur running accross the map shooting anything and everything that moves.

I've been whoring points all christmas, i like the system as it makes me want to complete the game fully. Just played through halo 3 on legendary with a friend on co-op and its a good laugh, wish i did it on co-op in the first place!

Plus you can't complain when you see 250G pop up as i completed it on easy at first for the story line lol :) Even got all the skulls along the way too, a lot of them were challanging for the points.

The best achievement is when you finish Bullet Witch on Chaos mode and get a whopping 250 gs in one go. I actually felt relieved when that huge devil thing at the end died.

Yer some games have really imaginative achievements that actually add to the game as you progress - Dead Rising is good example.

I love the achievement system, don't bother that much about them but love getting them, well I don't really go out of my way to get them.

Really do go through weird phases of obsession and err...non usuage of my 360. Think im going to man up and sell a load of my games. For the older ones im surprised I can still get a reasonable amount for them...well more than i thought anyway
