I hate Call of Duty 4

Only plus the 360 has over the PC version is that I can sit on a comfy sofa playing on a 50" LCD. Other than that the PC version requires more skill and gives me much more freedom and less chance of getting spammed grenaded to death.

Its exactly the same game you plonker. If anything, its harder to use a pad than a keyboard/mouse setup.

On the grenade front, follow the on screen instructions when a grenade appears, doh! It ain't rocket science

I take it that you haven't read the thread? lol
Unfortunatly with a game so "kick-ass" as this one, whenever I see "hate" and "COD4" I instantly barge into the thread and demand that he play it again on a different platform... my bad :)

In what way does the PC require more skill? I'm confused.

Yeah PC does not have the auto aim thing that appears now and again on the console versions, there is certainly no real auto aim but at times if you are just standing aiming at nothing it can track an enemy for some reason, but I would not say it makes it any less skillful since it is so rare and actually annoys most people when it happens.

effig done it! Bloody done it! C'MON!! My god my nerves are shot. (Mile High Club)

Once I changed tactics and picked up the shotgun at the start much easier :) did it with 15 secs to spare!

I found that you have to always be pushing forward. If you start sitting about trying to pop a few in the distance it will only get harder for you as they just respawn and then know where you are.

I also found team mates useful and they helped me out in certain parts of the game.

I thought the game was excellent and completed the SP and mile high on veteran. The TV station, ferris wheel and No fighting in the war room were really the only difficult parts. Found mile high difficult on the first floor and took nearly 50 tries to clear without dieing but managed to clear the second floor on my second attempt.

Go back and complete the training mission in under 19 secounds. That's how you need to play through the game by pushing foward as fast as possible.

Did that mission in about 2hrs. I just charged most of it rebounding flashbacks off corners. Iirc I reached the huge console room with around 7mins to spare. Hardest level for me was the finale at the ferris wheel, the amount of grenades being thrown around was pathetic. Ended up spending around 3 days on that bit, since I had no claymores. My first attempt to reach that chopper had me getting stuck on an invisible object on the floor as I was right on the ramp! Then I made it minutes afterwards.

The rest was just simple charging through at the right moment. I've got the Mile High Club left now, but will leave that till another time.

For me, this was an unbelievable over-hype of a game, game of the year?
frustrating game with all that re-spawning, very realistic
apart from the graphics, cod4 was a massive step back from its predecessors, hell even cod3 was better!

Well if you want it to be realistic, the game should come with a real gun that you point towards you when playing. If the game character gets shot, so do you.

CoD 3 was good, but I felt CoD 2 was the best of the bunch. I felt more immersed in that, despite it also having magically appearing grenades, I actually enjoyed it. Vet mode was a major challenge and the Normandy Beach Landing had me stumped for a solid week.
